I log into EW everynow and then and check the roster, got your share of score leeches of course. But there are regulars in there who I never see in LW...I guess that would make them our AH backwood Alabama type cousins making moonshine outside the VH as not to get caught. Some people just dont like the drama of 350 people all screaming you ho'ed me and nice warp......As for me Love it!

Yesterday, I jumped in the AvA arena to see if there wre any dogfights as I noticed 4 peeps in there.  As soon as I log in I see a V-base flashing, and then the text says base captured!  I didn't know peeps went in there to capture bases.  We have reached a new era in basetaking!  Just a bit of boring commentary, you may move along now.

:aok

This would explain the lack of numbers in the AvA. I go there and get my butt kicked. I guess these guys want it easy

I am not sure that I wish them to go away, but them not being counted in the rank thing sounds good.  At least when you milk run in the LW, someone is there to shoot at you.  These guys are racking up near 30 base captures a month?lol  I know of at least 5 in the top twelve that have 20 to 29 base captures, thats 125 bases taken by 5 peeps.  I played about 14 hours this week and I cant remember even seeing 40 base captures come up on text(of course I fly LW) Anyway, it cheapens the game a little, and I won't mention names but it's kind of like one of the top 6 ranked guys in fighters that was still flying with stall limiter on! LMAO!
Actually it doesn't affect my fun one way or the other, I was just a little shocked to see the one guy with 30 base captures.   As someone told me long ago, "Congratulations on being ranked #5 overall, it takes a lot of dweebery to get that far!"

PS  Can you guess who I quoted there at the end?

Having bopped in those arenas occasionally during off peak times, I can say that most of those guys are NOT concerned about rank.

They tend to be the "Yeah! Our Team Rocks!" crowd. They honestly get a rush out of winning an undefended map....I don't understand it, but they do.

(In the interest of full disclosure: It only comes up every so often, but I have to admit that I will make a run at a good rank every now and then. I know it is utterly meaningless, but the OCD in me makes me feel obligated to see what I can do if I have a good run where I usually don't  -- like Feb tour, when I miraculously had a good KPD in GVs. So yeah, i did run a couple bases. I am utterly ashamed, but like any addict I couldnt help myself.....)

SHawk??:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl

Actually, it was a young tart named SASKID who's always said "Rank don't mean Squat"
I find this to be quite true. I know where I stand against the good sticks in this game, that is what motivates me to get better, not rank...
When some one says to me on 200 "I knew it was you.. I know how good you are... thats why I was running"...( Yes!! it actually happened).. That means more to me than rank.

Good point on the CV'S.

Otherwise, the only thing that's meaningful with respect to score is K/d.

Not really. I have a fighter K/D of 27 in tour 85. Am I a such good pilot? Top of the cream? Nope.
If you check my stats, you can see that I did most of my fighter sorties in Me 163, Me 262 and occasional Tempest sortie, shooting down helpless buffs most of the time.
You have to put K/D in a context, what arena, what planes was the pilot flying, Hit% ect.
Someone constantly getting a K/D > 1.0 in a Hurri 1 is probably a much better in regard to fighter skills than a La7 or  Tempest driver with a K/D ten times as high.
