I was checking out the new rank page that SKuzzy updated and noticed something.  Many peeps in the top 10 or so have an incredible number of base captures.  19 in GV's and 9 in bombers, or 12 in bombers and 15 in gv's,  8 in bombers and 13 in GV's.  I notice some up near 30 base captures this tour.  I somehow don't remember that many bases actually being taken in the LW over the last month or so, and I am sure that it wasn't those same fellows doing all the captures, yet I see these guys in LW during peak hours.  With all the little maps of late and how long it takes to reset them, I know that many of these captures are done in EW and MW arenas.  Funny how the socializing goes on in the LW but the rank is accomplished in the EW and MW.
    Yesterday, I jumped in the AvA arena to see if there wre any dogfights as I noticed 4 peeps in there.  As soon as I log in I see a V-base flashing, and then the text says base captured!  I didn't know peeps went in there to capture bases.  We have reached a new era in basetaking!  Just a bit of boring commentary, you may move along now.

On a similar note, I check into and fly in the EW arena occasionally (2-3 flights a week on average).  When I check the roster I see that most of the arena is populated by very highly ranked players but, when I go head to head with them they don't show much for their high rankings.

Granted, that doesn't apply to all of them.  I've had some great fun against NB, even though I've lost a few too many of those and had a couple of good fights against KONG just the other night, but overall most of these guys aren't as good as their rankings.

Just an observation.

Just go into EW and MW! You will find the same  people in there all the time taking undefended bases. Funny thing is once you kill em a few times they either go to another base or log. I like going in there to foil their plans and they know who they are hehe.

I sometimes go into EW and MW to screw it up for the capture guys. Its usually the same names in there and they race to capture. If i happen to show up at a base they often eject from their c47s or even bombers and try somewere else.

I really hope these arenas can either go away or not be included in the rank-crap thing. On the other hand its nice to not have the MA infested with these peeps. :D

The ability to milk the EW and MW arenas then bring that low rank into the MA and take control of CV's is the only problem I see. Besides that, rank has no significance other than for some adolescent chest thumping.

The #1 rank will run away just as quickly if not more so than #2000 when caught at a disadvantage most times.

Rank is just that....rank.

one gv sorty per month..50 kills landed in a tiger with entire squad resupplying and spottin tanks for you. Ahh the dangerous life of the score hore! The cronies that fly zekes around tt to spot gv's is what amazes me. HOw much boot lickin can one squaddy do..snicker

Quit complaining. Get into the EW and be part of the action. Could use more players there. I have had more fun staying out of the LW arenas. Lots less noobs to deal with. Many worthy pilots. If you only want to furball, well thats been lacking there. Maybe if more showed up that would change. :D
