Okay, someone has to start the thread.

Ann Coulter, while speaking to a group of conservatives yesterday, referred to John Edwards as a "studmuffingot".

Quote
"I was going to have a few comments on the other Democratic presidential candidate, John Edwards, but it turns out that you have to go into rehab if you use the word 'studmuffingot,' so I'm - so, kind of at an impasse, can't really talk about Edwards, so I think I'll just conclude here and take your questions," said Coulter, whose comment was followed by applause.

Okay, that's not good. But I do have to chuckle at her followup when called to task...

Quote
"C'mon, it was a joke. I would never insult gays by suggesting that they are like John Edwards. That would be mean."

Heh.

I'm no Ann Coulter fan, but I'll give her this, she has no time for the PC crowd. We at least have that in common.

And the funny thing is, she was right.  The whole country freaks out if you say that word.  Now that she said it in the exact way she did (basically predicting that everyone would freak out), it's pretty much a race to show who's the biggest weenie.

It was kind of a dumb thing to say, but frankly I'm glad she said it because the PC nonsense is getting nuts again.  It's going to be hard for anyone to really say she said it in a hate filled way (although that's exactly what the biggest spazoids are claiming) so score one for freedom of speech.
Everyone I know, goes away, in the end.

Ann Coulter is one of the most seemingly hate-filled conservative zealots out there.  I've discussed this with my friends before, but I think she puts on a show to sell books and get airtime on conservative networks.

But really, does she have that limited of a vocabularly that she has to refer to Mr. Edwards as a "studmuffingot"?  Or is she just catering to her core audience (working and lower middle class americans) who frequently use the word?

The thing about Coulter that gets me is that she is not about compromise.  She widens the rift between the parties (and the ideologies) of America.  We've all seen what happens when one slight majority does something that the slight minority doesn't agree with (Iraq war).  How about not calling people studmuffingots, and maybe proposing some ideas that both parties can agree on?

Ann says everything in a hate-filled way - it seems to be part of her delivery.

I get tired of PC extremes too but I hardly think expecting people to refrain from calling presidential candidates "studmuffingots" is nonsense.

For folks who don't like her there seems to be quite a few who apparently listen to her. I get her content here simply because I don't listen to her or any other talk radio.

If you don't like her, don't listen. Ther has to be something else on the radio at the time to listen to. Why waste your time listening to something you hate? :huh

I can see how that IS a lots worse than calling Bush a lying murderer, or comparing our soldiers to Nazis---the original guy who went to 'rehab' for saying 'studmuffingot'...was it a hollywierd guy or a sports guy? I remember it was a couple-three months ago

The same people who will whine about how "mean" Ann Coulter is will read Ted Rall and slobber over how great he is. Figures.

I don't hear coulter much except here.

I think she was very clever in getting the whole thing out... one that there is something very metrosexual (at the very least) about edwards and two, that the whold PC and rehab thing has gotten very 1984,

I also find it amusing that the most hate filled name callers... the left... seem upset about this minor thing.

I would say she was right on the mark for an entertainer.   Why is it only funny when the left does it like that mahr guy or gerafalo?

As for comprimise?   I don't believe it is a good idea to comprimise with the left and the blue staters... I see what it has got us so far and figure... enough is enough.   I have a real "hate" for the socialists.
