pics unmodified. true ingame unaltered screenshots with standard video settings and 1.0 gamma. video card settings standard unmodified.

adjust your monitor to ICC compliance and compare.

There is no arguement that the new terrain tiles are too dark from the non edited settings.

But most people would go and do those tweaks and still be very happy with the changes.

Old... with these new settings my relitivly young 29 year old eyes feel strained also. My brother in law came over the other day. He does a lot of texturing for other games and he has seen me play with the old terrain but when he saw the change his exact words were "That looks like crap." and started asking if anyone tests these things befor they are added to the game.

I kicked the gamma up to 1.4 and that seems to help but now my Army green T-34 looks like it has a near winter cammo paint job.

Sorry HTC crew I'm not trying to be insulting here just honest. Generally I like graphic updates and you usually do a good job and most of this one was great but the darkness isn't.

Stupid answer time.

It looks like the old is shorter grass and the new is longer grass.

I think we just need to add more sheep and make sure 'SheepAppetite' is a new arena setting.
0= Have just ate and are full and content.
1= Almost full but still want a snack.
2= Hungry.
3= Ravenous.

The current AH world is way too dark. I like the look of things except for the darkness and inability to distinguish contours.

I like the new fields and the old fields. I do agree the old was too bright, and the new seems to be too dark and plain at high altitudes unlike the old where you could still see farms up high.

What really bugged me about all of this..is when guys started saying things were to "darK" HTCs response was to tell us that our monitors were not calibrated. Yet the numbers speak for themselves.
