HTC, just a quikie
« on: April 24, 2007, 03:15:46 PM »
HTC, there is now an almost universal request for our maps of old to be ebbed back into the game, i made a thread on this subject a week or so ago but never got  response from u guys. .

long and short of it : i found people would be made a lot happier with a seemingly simple action. do you still have ALL the old maps or only some.. or none!?

will we be seeing older maps, slightly bigger maps or even some NEW:eek: Maps anytime soon, the constant cycle is really getting stagnant and tiring and resets are rare.

would there be any chance of lowering the required fields for victory to 30% or somewhere in that region? to liven things up a bit?

condolences,
Hul367th

Good thing you didn't play AW. You wouldn't have made it. It's about the fight, not the map.

To me, it is all about the maps, the eye candy, the visual effects and the immersion.

Who needs to fight when you can fly around looking at the hills and trees.
I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know.

this is where to different gameplay styles collide, those who want to just buzz around in circles and those who appreciate a more fuller, realsitic experience.

What does that have to do with a map? How does that stop your strategery?

it just makes the game sorta repetitive because we have such a small group of maps now and such a lot of players on small maps makes it crowded, especially on the island maps where there arent many fronts or 'targets'

Maps do have a big influence on combat opportunities.
They shape the style & flow of the battles. Gv friendly or not, long / short distances between bases, CVs or no CVs, distance of spawnpoints, the topography (flat plains or tight valleys) and even distribution of each countries inital start airfield (eternal A1-A19 furball on uterus, while the NE country usually starts takin base after base)....

I agree Hulse the maps are stale at the moment we been playing the exact same few maps in both late wars for over 3 month now. I used to play every day but lately i log on look at the same boring maps and log off.

The game is still great i just wish we could see a few of those older maps in rotation for something different. I have been moaning about this for a while now to the squad and some of them are hopefull it will change but im beginning to wonder when that will be as we never ever get a response from these sort of posts from the "POWERS THAT BE" and there has been a few posts like this lately.

I dont care what map we see aslong as its something different.

It is about the fight by and large.
But the maps have something to do with it also.
Personally I liked AW when it had the Euro and Pac maps, and loathed the map that became the permanent one at the end.

If your all about furballing and only furballing then yea, the maps dont mean a thing.
But if your like me. who likes to do a wide variety of things depending on my mood at the moment
Then the maps can mean alot
