a lot of goons will auger or bail before your in range if they see you.

if they dont know you are there they wont be able to doo such dweeby things

No attack on you or what you feel is happening Fester but I find it awfully funny that all of a sudden everyone wants all the goons and buffs to loose external views. Most of the reasons are hilarious in my personal opinion.

I think in that vein we should request that all goons and buffs fly straight and level at an altitude on no more than 5,000 ft and never exceed 180 mph.

Actually, I think your reasoning is just as funny as the others Fester. If they wanna auger rather than give you the kill, so what? Are you really worried about that .0000005 perks that you just lost? Personally, I will generally stay out of the external views in the goonie because of the fun of flying NOE. But if someone likes to use external for whatever reason, more power to 'em.

Alternatively, if it is decided to take the external view away, how about a view from the perspective of that little glass bubble at the top of the goon. I honestly don't know what that's for, but it looks to me like it'd be good for spotting enemies.

didn't c47's have a small bubble window behind the pilot's cabin in rl? if the external view is removed this should be modelled.

The external view is there to make up for the lack of a LARGE GROUP of buffs and the LARGE NUMBER of eyes they carried. In the same way that buffs deserve them, so do goons.

Leave the outside views ESPECIALLY on the C47. Hell...there aint nothing else to do but watch the scenery!

About the only fun thing about flying a goon is the outside view, watching the scenery.

So NO, dont take away outside view.

I mean come on. nobody is that desperate that they NEED that kill from the 1 goon in 20 that is gona auger rather than get shot down.

I agree- keep the outside view for the C47's. If the guy wants to auger or whatnot, let him. He just upped in a death-trap for God's sake, don't make it any worse on him.

I think the little round bubble you are referring to, is the Astro-dome. So the navigator could take readings on stars.

Dont understand well...... if goon pilot or goonies launch when they see you, you have achieved your goal! they' ll not launch over field, and will not conquer it!
Or isnt this your goal, and you miss something if they act so ???

His deal is this (i think), after he cashes in all that altitude to go to the deck and shoot down the rascal in the goon, the goon sees this and decides he would just rather auger or self impose a disconnect than give him the easy kill. So now cit is pissed, and provokes him to make this post.

Same suggestion I give for other buffs.

Planes withuot many gunner postions or many different crew positions with different points of view should not have any 3D ARCADE outside view. If possible the pilots "6OC' view should be that of the gunner or second crewmember.

The following AH and pssible future planes planes should be in this category.

Larger buffs or planes that have many gun positions and many possible and different points of view should keep the F3 3D ARCADE view but only if the ability to steer and fly the plane from the 3D view is eliminated.
Basically if you select F3 view the plane goes into locked autopilot level/climb, you can still use it to simulate enhanced SA of many crew eyes but you cant use the unrealistic SA to perform perfect evasives. Use F3 view to see the bandit then jump into cockpit and evade from there.

The following planes should have this setup.

B17
JU88
B26
Lancaster
He177
Ki67 Peggy
Avenger (remember 3 crewmembers with much different view fields)

And so on...

This is the most reasonable solution I can see as of now to adress the unrealistic 3D ARCADE view and related perfect evasives control ablity in AH while still fairly allowing for enhanced SA of having multiple crewmembers with vastly different fields of view.

Ah, perhaps you should look at fighter pilots views if you want to talk unrealistic

I assume that each and everyone one of you calling for the ban of F3 will only fly Buffs in the future,right?
