They are saying that if these computers dont reboot, the station could lose its attitude for converting solar energy, and lose all power. Once the Shuttle has to uncage, and it has to uncage eventually, the Space Staion will start to tumble as a result of the shuttle seperation, and the Space Station will have to be abandoned, and will disintegrate as it falls back to earth.

These computers are in the Russian sphere of ISS control, these computers are the reponsibility of Russian engineers, these computers are controlled by Russian ground controllers......

Therefore, for all intents and puposes, these computers, whether manufactured in Taiwan or Germany, are RUSSIAN!

I cant find a link to the german computers........wheres the info?

Cant find anything that refers to them other than "three computers in the russian sphere of control" onboard ISS.

So, give me some proof and Ill modify the subject header, otherwise it stands

They say that probable cause of the malfunction is a "noise" in power lines caused by new solar panels.

Funny that "Russian" computers are so sensitive to such things. Soviet designes produced after 1972 are Elbrus super-computers used in defence and some special digital systems mostly also used in defence (submarines, planes, radars etc). In 1970 our beloved Party and Government desided to abandon our own general-purpose designs and start cloning IBM/360 and DEC PDP machines...

You are happy not to know any programming languages based on Cyrillic ABC

I hope you never used a Cyrillic-based "phonetic" keyboard layout: "YCUKENG" instead of "QWERTYU".

IIRC even EL'-76 used on Elbrus supers used Latin letters.

There were some languages in Cyrillic, mostly for kids, but even school PC classes (BK-001Sh) used Focal language in Latin.

I think they'll find some solution using soldering iron, spare parts from a coffe-machine they'll steal from Shuttle, crowbar and someone's mother

I only hope they'll not have to use aspirin instead of killed spirit (soldering acid)

One of the Control Center specialists, said in interview, that the problem arised from poor technical training of an american crew. They made en error durind solar panels mounting, wich caused an extreme static electricity discharge. This discharge became the origin of the backup electrecity lines fault.
