Didn't expect this from a city that boasts, "This is a city with a heart and with a soul. Cosmopolitan, yet unpretentious. Thriving cultural scene and vibrant nightlife. High-tech, low-key. Big city, college town. Quirky and far from ordinary, it's the kind of place where you check your worries at the city limits sign, trade in suits for something a bit more casual and prepare for experiences you'll find only in Austin."
Your title should be.....
Part of Austin....not Texas in general.
I live just North of Austin and work downtown. 1 block north of the capital as a matter of fact.
Austin itself is a wonderful place to have a good time in. I wouldn't live in Austin proper for anything. Taxes SUK...City Council is a joke....and its WAY TO LEFT for me.
But as a town of beautiful things to see , the lakes , rivers , and some of the cultural things I like, its one in a million.
Texas itself isn't third world...but there is a part of Austin....that any lighter skinned person with a lick of sense would stay out of at certain times. That don't make me a racist.
