Had a good chat in the MA today with a bunch of people and found it rather interesting just how many people that play are either in the military or have been in the military.

So just out of curiosity I was wondering how many of you have or are serving and where all have you been stationed and when.

Me....
1989-1992 Oklahoma Army National Guard. HQ Battery 1/171FA, and A Battery 1/158FA(MLRS)  Both units kept most the gear at Ft Sill and the 1/158 took me to Desert Storm in 1991
1992-1994 US Coast Guard Cutter Scioto, Keokuk Iowa (Mississippi river and was in the middle of the BIG flood in 1993)
1994-1995 Coast Guard Training Center Petaluma California for Electronic Technician school
1995-1997 Coast Guard Electronics Engineering Center Wildwood New Jersey
1997-1999 Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center Baltimore Maryland
1999-2002 Coast Guard Electronics Support Detachment Portsmouth Virginia (Worked on a counter narcotics program during this time for Tactical Law Enforcement Team North as their comms and navigation tech for their 38ft Deployable Pursuit Boats. Deployed on the Cutter Legare for her 4 month 2001 Med cruise during the summer of 2001. Also deployed to New York for Operation Guarding Liberty on Sept 12th 2001 with TACLET North)
2002-2003 US Coast Guard Cutter Legare Portsmouth Virginia
2003-2007 Coast Guard Command and Control Engineering Center
May 25th 2007 medically retired from active duty with 100% disability:(   Really wish I could have stayed in for anouther 10 years or so. I miss it already.

So where have you guys been and what cool things have you done in the service???

Just took ASVAB recently for USAF. Medical (oh boy!) is next. I scored well so hopefully I can go into the nuclear weapons field. If all goes well in 22 years or so I can I say I put my 20 years in.

Investigator: What was your fith grade girlfriends last name?:D

To those who have served, serving, or like me actively planning to serve.

USMC 1982-1993

MCAS Kaneohe Bay was by far the best of the assignments, even with the 6 months in Desert Storm/Shield.
