I dont care much about how other ppl land, but i think belly landing should count as ditch. And if you cannt land plane on gears because of damage - too bad for you.

Agree, especially with perk planes. Belly landing ( in real world ) or forced belly landing usually mean scraping off a plane...

True, but in real life you still got your kills credited (and lauded) even if you belly landed. Kills were for the pilot, not the plane.

In AH's system I'm perfectly fine with a "safe landing" being allowed for belly landing, because you can ONLY get it on the cement. If you belly land anywhere, you get a ditch, when historically you'd still be considered safe and still get praise for your kills. This game makes getting praise a bit harder than real life (because you get more than one life) so I like the "anything is safe as long as it's on cement" rule.

The ratio of random land/water to cement that you can land on is still 10 Million to 1. Keep that in mind.

Worry about how to kill the bad guy.  Not about how he lands after he kills you

I had a beauty of a landing last night.  Pilot wounded by a D9 I managed to get it home.  Slowed for landing between the blackouts and was all set to touch down, flaps all down etc.  blacked out after I throttled back and flared.

Blackout lasts forever.  I can hear Soulyss laughing from the tower as my now pilotless 38G is deciding where to go.  It wasn't the runway.  As I come out of the black out from the PW again I'm left wing low and headed for the hanger with the stall horn blaring.  Left wing scrapes the ground and I slam into the  dirt.  I'm along for the ride at this point.  Left wing tip snaps off props dig in and I slide towards the hanger expecting I'm dead.  I ended up sliding to a stop on the cement with the right wing against the wall next to the hanger door and my nose inside the hanger.

landed kills.

Any landing you can walk away from :)

Probably cuz Bat hit someone in the fuel tanks as he was vulchin their field and they executed the "holy sh.." landing plan.... and executed it to effect, therefore negating Bat's hard won vulch kill.

Or some variation of same idea :)

LOL, I stopped gear down landings a year or less after I started playing the game. When they start penalizing for belly landings I'll start going wheels down again. Otherwise it's the fastest way to land when you're on a capped field. May fave way is to belly slide into a hanger while the plane chasing you for the kill smacks it and explodes. :D

Drone, it's hard to stop because you're so aerodynamic!!! I mean, no flight surfaces to get in the way of all that air!

He's worried about a wheels-up landing not being a ditch.

Why not be more concerned that a wheels down landing where you roll 1-foot off the cement *is* called a ditch?

Finally, the strength of the plane has a lot to do with things. Most of US Navy planes could be patched and and flown again after a gentle belly landing. P-39 too for sure (not that we have that one). A new propellor was needed for sure, of course, but those Grumman planes sure could take a beating and keep on flying.
