Snow is good as long as it is there in just the right amount. A good amount in the winter, to melt and refill the ponds, lakes, rivers and streams in the spring, and for the kids to play in. And, of course, to make snowcream. Couldn't live without that.

I would say North Eastern New Mexico. The Pecos River area was great. May end up there in a few years.

What's up - did you use Michael Barrymore's pool while you were over here?

I couldn't imagine anyone having a pool over there... least not an outdoor one.   I was constantly told how lucky I was the the weather was so good for my visit and everyone was going around without a jacket...  I was freezing.

frodo... I will have to check out new mexico more.

Lazs I took my first trip to NM 2 years ago, and was blown away. Plan to go back next year for a longer trip. We have been seriously talking about moving there.

I grew up hunting, fishing, floating, camping, ect., all over the Ozarks, and neighboring states. Never thought I would want to be any other place than this area. I may have been wrong. So be careful if you go to New Mexico! :D

Started in Albuquerque. Nice for a large city, and the old downtown area was great. Santa Fe after that. Very beautiful and interesting, and I wanted to spend more time there. But the land and real estate prices were nuts.

The last area was the Pecos River area. Wide open spaces, outdoor lovers paradise. This will be my first destination on the next trip.

The climate was also very nice, and some of the best food I have tasted.

New Mexico is alright as long as you are in the mountain areas and next to water. Head to the Southern part of it like Demming and Lordsburg and it's a dirty dusty windy bucket of dirt. Even the area just South of Albuquerque is pretty nasty and desolate.

I'd rather be in AZ. or TX. than New Mexico. You can get the same kind of food and far more varied terrain. Texas also has much better hunting. (egads how I hate talking up texass.....)   :p

On second thought, - France.
Many nice little places in not-so small a country.
It was very interesting to carry out the flight trials at Rechlin with the Spitfire and the Hurricane. Both types are very simple to fly compared to our aircraft, and childishly easy to take-off and land. (Werner Mölders)

France?! :lol  Oh brother... thanks for the ab workout.

Northern NM is beautiful.  Santa Fe and surroundings at Christmas was one of the most beautiful sights I've come across.  White Sands looks great on postcards, but I never had a chance to see more of it.
