H2H vs. the MA SuperBrawl

creton was what i considered a good virtual friend to me, we used to have great fun dueling. we had a disagreement that was partly my fault and partly his, we exchanged some PMs and the matter was dropped. after a month or so i figured i was stupid for making the original issue matter to me, and that i would prefer to have creton as a friend than an enemy. I sent him a message of appology for our argument, with no reply possibly due to his leaving the game, possibly that he didnt care to make up with me. either way i got no response. then months later he popped into a thread and i saw he was still online so i took the chance to publicly appologise again, but a second time he failed to notice or simply didnt read the thread again.

my comments here regard the fact that as creton became more and more adept at dueling i noticed a distinct attitude change and then on the creation of his own squad and huge leap from friendly and modest to somewhat offensive in his own self confidence. it stopped being about flying for fun and became all about winning, being the best. this reminds me of Skyrock, as a numbers dude (031598) he was so much fun to play with, a joy to fly with or against. then through developing a high level of game skill the change to skyrock was almost overnight. either way i dont mind how a person behaves, it is a freedom we all have for ourselves and i still have fun with skyrock. maybe a rise in self confidence has this result on anyone, certainly i myself am just as guilty of such behaviour at times. i have spoken with skyrock about creton and i definitely see many similarities between the pair of them, and myself, and many others.

bah...i type too much today i must go and do some thing outside soon. either way, i was and still am sorry that i fell out with creton, and habour no ill will at all. I do however remain steadfast on my opinions of his gaming attitude, perhaps you were a closer friend to him and he did not feel the need to show you this side of his character, he definitely showed it to me. if i saw him today i would gladly appologise for a third time and greatly rejoice if it were possible to gain his acceptance of my appology.

Wow slap that list brings back memories.  Many of them still play?  I should be getting back to AH this sunday or at the latest the thursday after.  I came back after 2 years only to be off for another 6 weeks after a week of flying.

Never had a problem with creton myself, think i went to the DA with him once or twice.  It was uncommon for me to be in the DA, i much preferred the MA, i enjoy fighting in uneven matchups and the MAs unpredictability.

if any of you self promoters would care to disagree with me lets go do it in the DA. just make sure you tell me if the fight is for fun or for 'who is best'. if for fun then you may even be allowed to win a couple. if it is for 'who is best' then you will see the error of you foolish ways.

when you start being rude and offensive to such a great person as Sloehand, you lose my respect completely.

Lots of people considered Creton a friend.  He was quite the guy while begging to learn in the DA.  Then, one day he decided he was good and went from mr. nice guy to a jerk.  He is not the only one that went through this transformation though.

I've had my nights vs. him, Dedalos.  There was once a time when we dueled every single night it seemed for several hours.  It was probably the time I was the best I've ever been at this game - I certainly have never had more practice.  There'd be nights where I'd win the vast majority.  They just never happened twice in a row

Regardless of who won, there was never any animosity or such between us, or even a taste of ego.

This was right around when some players' issues with him started (I was in his squad, I'm aware of the drama), so I've always been wondering what the big deal was.

Maybe just personality clashes or something, I suppose.  I just don't see him as a bad guy.

The fact that you were in his squad had alot to do with you not getting burned by him.

Thanks Bat, but my ego is just fine checked at the door.  I am the first to admit that there are a ton of better players than myself out there and everyone on those lists are just a few of them.  Besides I don't need the pressure.

No one is really a bad guy.  I am sure he is fine with his family and friends and a functioning member of society in general.  I know him for what, 4 years? I've seen every change.  I did not say anything based on a 1 time encounter.  Just don't trust him with anything you dont want the world to know and you will be fine, lol.  I have to agree with Sky here.  If you were part of his squad at the time his look how nice of a guy I am persona, then you probably never witnessed any of this
