Low alt fields, he asks my pick of planes, I tell him to pick em himself.
He says "f4-4" which could be either F4F or F4U4, so I reply "F4U4 otr", to which he says "rgr".
We roll and he shows up in an F4F, 1k above me (my charity). He loses, obviously.
Next three rounds are F4U4s, he loses everytime, without doing anything out of the ordinary ACM you get from mediocre pilots trying to pull up their pants in a hurry when they get their tables turned in the MA.
Actualy, the only thing worth noting is him breaking the cold merge and coming in above merge alt. He still cant manage anything above average (and that's understating it) despite that.
Pure crap.
Crap like that is a dime a dozen, but I think it's relevent and not just trolling/flaming to post like this because I think it needs to be made explicit just what is different between now and "the good old days". The good old days are just an idea, when we were in em, we mostly didnt realize they'd be so extraordinary. But ask any vet around, which last night there were a whole bunch of online (Frenchy, Hajo, Octavius, Wadke, Apar, probably more that I can't recall now), and they'll tell you that barging into a good tight 1:1 happening away from everything else just so you can send one of the two straight off to the tower is pointless.
Just like suicide bombers, FH/CV furball killers (esp. ones that had lasted hours beforehand), spies and other rubbish have reduced the fun of aircombat that AH is so good at.
Speaking of spies, there's a psycho playing around in AH, with a number of accounts, .wingman-ing his targets from one account so he can target them with another account, repeatedly. It's griefing and a real PITA.
