I was looking for parts for my 1972 Dodge Monaco. I checked with the usuall suspects : YearOne, NPD, Classic Industrie ... but they don't have catalogs for the big irons like they do for Chevy, just the Mopar muscle cars.

Anyone know of a company that deals with old Dodges?

Found a couple parts here http://www.carjunky.com/dodge~monaco~parts.html not much but they are there...

What part(s) do you need?  I might be able to find them at work but older parts are increasingly harder to come by.

Think about trying to find others for parts and parting them out, Ebay what you dont need.

I'm sorry guys, I'm on the road so I'm not home. This Monaco is not mine, I posted this picture so people know what a 72 Monaco looks like.

Mine has the same color/top combo, but a 4 door. The paint is faded, but the no major rust spots, and only a dent or 2. The body is straight. The chromes are not pitted. The interrior smells like dead body, the apolstry has the usuall tear on the driver seat. The dash is all cracked by the sun.

Being a Monaco, car is fully loaded with AC/power windows/power seats/cruise control/engine pre-heater. Available for that year was the 318, 360, 383 2bb, 383 4bb, 440. This car has a 360 engine, 2 barel carb, 727 trany. I like it for the little 360 as it will be my daily driver, our road trip car. I drove it from Sun Valley to Salt Lake City, 300 miles @ 70 MPH on 3/4 tank. The thing runs on 85 octane. The trany does not shift into reverse, the engine is covered in grease, and the suspensions are inexistent. Brakes are awsome.

I'll get the trany rebuilt locally or by a new one from YearOne for $600, depending on local rebuilding costs. The I'll take the 360 out and rebuild it to what it is now, no perf parts so I keep the cost way down as well as the fuel consumption. While the engine is out I'll repaint the engine compartment, front suspension.

That will give me a fun daily driver for $3,000. I'll resell my 2005 Taurus with 25,000 miles to get out of my ridiculous 25% APR.

After the sale, I'll change bushings/shocks/springs, then as time permit body/paint. Finally as money permits, fix AC and get someone to recover the seats, maybe recover the dash if I canot find a new one.

That's the evil master plan, a big old school reliable familly car of little value for airport parking and familly road trips, and the firebird for weekend goofing around/races.

Thank you for those links. I've spent the last 2 days online looking. My best bet is to keep screening Ebay daily. I'll post pictures of the parts I'm looking for. From the top of my head, a dash, the Heater/AC controler and new tail lights like those ones:

Dont forget the ever useful JC Whitney catalog.  I havent seen one for awhile but they used to have all sorts of stuff like carpet kits and door seals, even suspension parts.   As far as parts go dont forget to look for Polaras (same car different trim) and I think the Plymouth Fury is the same car under the skin.

The C body may date from 1961 or 1962 in the Chrysler models and the Dodge Custom 880, though Chrysler considers the C body to have begun in 1965 with the unit-body construction.

Allpar staff note: Many have made a good case for including the late Imperial as a C-body as well. For more on the controversy, click here.

Plymouth Fury (1965-74) VIP (1966-69) Gran Fury (1975-77*)
 Dodge Custom 880 (1965) Polara (1965-73) Monaco (1965-76)**
Royal Monaco 1975-76

Chrysler 300 (1965-71) Newport, New Yorker,   Imperial All 1974-75

dont forget to check craigslist for local cars that might be available for parting out.

You might get lucky and find the heater controls are used by another model, I think junk yards have books that can tell you.
