and God Bless our veterans.
Never abandon the possibility of attack. Attack even from a position of inferiority, to disrupt the enemy's plans. This often results in improving one's own position. - General Adolf Galland, Luftwaffe

They were the 4 best years of my life. I remember at the time none of us ever thought the Cold War would ever be over. At least "over" with an intact world population.

We used to practice "Armageddon". It was scary stuff.

On behalf of the 79th FG: " We salute the present & past Veterans. And for all of the living & fallen Veterans. You are not forgot my friend & brothers in arms!"

Even for those that don't support the military. But they should remember it's the military that protects there rights to live here in America and to have freedom given to all of us..  And with that freedom: Comes the freedom of choices in each and every day of all Americans lives. Remember you are not an oppressed nation.  America is great because of the freedom choices of life."

" Thank you my fellow Veteran & brothers. - You are the real heroes in real time.
We also thank for what you gave up! - your precious time, energy, courage, honor, family and most of all your life.
To put your life on the line every winking moment to protect this America and our ways of life."
Thank you for giving us all the wonderful freedom of an American life. " - GGhost - CO   :aok

Not a literary great, but heartfelt none the less.

A PRAYER

Here's to those who guard the night,
Protect us from, Hate's awful fright.
A prayer to those, who in harm's way,
Shed their blood, for us each day.

A Prayer...
For those who watch our shore,
And give a sailor life once more.
Who search for those, broke and rent.
They truly are, heaven sent.

A Prayer...
For those who sail the sea,
And show our flag, with dignity.
Bringing justice to some foreign land,
Freedom following, close in hand.

A Prayer...
For those who storm the beach,
Who kill the enemy, that they reach.
Who fight and die on foreign shore.
The world knows, as The Corps.

A Prayer...
For those that streak the sky,
And put to rest, a most awful lie.
That they can hide, foes of ours,
From steel rain, from the stars.

A Prayer...
For those who trudge the mud,
Cross sand and snow, and stinking crud.
To face the foe, and mortality.
Eye to eye, for Liberty.

Yes, say a prayer for all these souls,
Our nation's heart, its burning coals.
However long our Flag may wave.
It does so 'cause, of what they gave.

And who today, hear that call,
'Freedom and Liberty, must never fall!'
A prayer of love, of hope and care,
Supporting them in what they dare.

Be they Soldier, Marine or Airman.
Sailor, Coastie, our able boatmen.
A prayer for those that stand the wall,
And keep us free, one and all.

As a Veteran I’d like to say thank you for remembering us today.

I’d also like to say thank you to all the people who took the time to send messages and care packages to us when I was in the service. Those things can really make a difference in how you feel over there day to day. After three tours in the gulf, I can’t think of any thing that made me happier when I was there.

To the veteran’s

and

To those who remember them!

When I enlisted in the AirForce in 72', many of my friends reacted with disdain. They asked me how I could even think about bombing the poor peasants of Vietnam and supporting petro/chemical corporations who were making billions on  the "police action" .   I just wanted to do my duty as a citizen of my nation.  The same thing my grandfather, my uncles and my cousins had done.   I never was officially "in country" nor did I ever participate in actual combat, but that didn't matter to many people I met in casual situtations, as soon as they discovered I was in the service their deameanor changed and I was on the defensive.  I was never called a baby killer to my face but words like lackey and drone and tool were said to me.

Until  9/11, no one ,except my peers in the service and my family, ever thanked me for doing my duty.  Now please don't get me wrong ,I never needed to be thanked. Like I said it was my duty.   I'm only posting this because its a little bittersweet when I see these salutes and support for our armed forces today and see what a huge difference it is.

Roger that on the jack balls or jack in the box - Tumor.
Alot of clowns in their own little box of a world.  I to still serve in the USAF today and a veteran of all the wars and conflicts from the Gulf War I. I have been around the world. And still can call home at the good old USA. Don't get me wrong there are alot of nice nations to visit. And some nations are a piece of dog crap to visit. But visit is the key word.
