That's just it, kilz. I don't see a major focus on base capture, except by the players. Yeah, you get perks for it, but only the guy who flies the unarmed goon in. Yeah, the war gets you some perks when it's won, but you can get a lot more perks defending, in less time. Beyond that, the war (and it's perceived importance to some) is just a part of the game that allows for some variety of action, and also allows the fronts to move around, so it's not the same fight over the same base. It's part of the game, but it's not the biggest part.
