OK guys whats the best set to get. By best I don't mean most expensive but rather best construction that will hold up over time. Also give me some inexpencive options that will work as a stop gap to keep the wife from going ballistic. She had a conniption at the cost of the X52.

there's really only 3 options.

saitek, I have no experience with and they are more expensive than the CH.

most here use CH, they are awesome and last forever.

uber-expensive german made one from simped... like $300

check provantage.com for CH peds. if i remember right, they were around $80 or $90.

CH Pedals are the best for the buck. I had one problem with mine, which was having to keep my right heel planted to make sure the brakes were dis-engaged on takeoff. Some very helpful soul in one of the arenas told me how to adjust them and fix it, which I did, and they've been perfect ever since. I wouldn't trade these for the fanciest german set

<------------ has tried both CH and Saitek. Saitek look and feel more durable, have adjustable foot rests and an adjustable tension spring. The extra $30 IMHO is worth the $$

I just converted my gameport CH Pro Rudders to USB by canabalizing an old Saitek Cyborg Evo stick, so far they are working nice.

What was the fix? Need it myself.

I need that fix too. It was for that reason that I went and got the Saitek ped's. The CH peds are gathering dust under the desk behind the saiteks, and I want to fix the CH's and use em again to get a good comparison between the ch's and the Saitek's.

Been through 2 sets of CHs where the toe brake wire rubs through internally, seems to be a design fault.

i had the same problem. i took off the cover and removed the pot for the brake. then i adjusted the tabs that hold it in place so that i didn't need to rest my heel on it. been working great ever since.

btw, quick question, whats the problem everyone else seems to have with XP and game port devices?

I connected 2 different devices to my computer this weekend via Game port.

Yes XP Pro SP2, both worked flawlessly right off the bat. Just had to go tell XP what they were first.

BTW one of those was a CH products Virtual Pilot Pro flight yoke that the wife found for me for a grand total of 3$. Can you say Happy Ghosth?

The other was a MS sidewinder Prec Pro Force Feedback which when I told xp that it was a sidewinder autodetected perfectly.

I think it is not an issue of XP seeing the device it is the programming software, and AH recognizing multiple devices.
