No no no, you're doing it all wrong...all that stuff just gets you F.S.T.(Forced Snuggle Time).  You have to do the opposite...get her something like a $20 dustbuster or a swiffer mop, then she's pissed, wont want to talk to you or be around you and that my friend = less money spent and more importantly, AH time....badda bing, badda boom!

Sounds like a man headed for a divorce..  

But at least you get more flight time.  Trouble is, AH will cost when you figure in child support.

There are always escape routes for self preservation.  For example (the dustbuster play dumb method)

Me: "Honey, I heard you say you needed one, I'm really sorry.  I am so horrible at gift giving." *look sad and give a hug*
Her: "It's ok, you tried."

Result:  You may seem like a dumba** , but she thinks you just didn't know better and you might get sympathy game time or you know what time.  win/win.
