Has Mrs Obama sunk the ship?
« on: February 19, 2008, 12:29:43 PM »
"And let me tell you something -- for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country"

Link to Video of the speech.

I am suprised Clinton has not made a huge deal about it.

Granted she is just his wife, but they seem to be part of the deal now.

She sounds like she is reaching for words and didnt think it through beforehand, but its still not a very bright thing to say.

"Obama will save americas soul".

They better be careful, they will get too full of themselves and shoot their wad before its time.  Perhaps, as some are suggesting, Obama is the Christ returneth.  I wonder if maybe he is the antichrist.

I know one thing for sure...I am very leery of the hype surrounding this guy.
People fainting at his revivals...crying as they adore his God like person.

This is going to be fun :)

I don't think it was anything all that bad.

well, to quote obama, is "And let me tell you something -- for the first time in my adult lifetime, I am really proud of my country" just words?

just words

just words.

obama's whole campaign is "just words", but now her words are not important. he is all sizzle and no steak.

he cannot claim every quote from Jefferson to FDR to JFK and say they are more than "just words" and then say what his wife said is only just words.

obama is "just words". his 20 something supporters say they will vote for him because he is for "change", but they have no idea what he means.

Obama is an Illinois politician. If he's your hope for change then God help us all. They are all corrupt here . Including him and the ones hes Pal'ed around with. The guy is the biggest corporate drone in the race right now. Or do you think all these big players give him $$ expecting nothing in return?

An Illinois politician whose going to bring change???:rofl  My Lord but people are simple.

Your a victim of spin my friend. Obamas Illinois shenanigans are going to come out. Just watch.

Taken in context, I don't see the big deal.  I guess it was a slow day in the media.

"What we've learned over this year is that hope is making a comeback. It is making a comeback and let me tell you something, for the first time in my adult lifetime, I'm really proud of my country. And not just because Barack has done well, but because I think people are hungry for change. And I have been desperate to see our country moving in that direction and just not feeling so alone in my frustration and disappointment. I've seen people who are hungry to be unified around some basic common issues, and it's made me proud. And I feel privileged to be a part of even witnessing this, traveling around states all over this country and being reminded that there is more that unites us than divides us..."

Sunk the ship? Unlikely. How many of those predisposed to vote for Obama do you feel are likely to change their vote for a Republican for a lack of pride in one's country?

Illinois is the most corrupt sate in the U.S by far, but I haven't heard of any corruption involving Obama.

Arkansas state troopers revealed they were used to bring Clinton hookers when he was governor of Arkansas prior to the '92 presidential election and he still had no trouble getting elected.

No democrat ever went unelected overestimating the selfishness of the American people.
