I just found this info on the Tiger I.  It had a 8 speed transmission.  Our current tiger I in the game is only a 6 speed.  Is it a limitation of the game of only being able to have 6 or was it a mistake?  2nd, the tiger I is only capable of doing 23.6 mph (38 km/h).  The panzer IV was capable of doing 24.9 mph (40 km/h).  In the game these tanks are equal in speed.

Hello Iron,

As you can tell by the upcoming update (Wirbelwind, SdKfz 251, Ostwind re-skin, adjusting the gamey aspects of detail sliders while GV'ing)  the ground warfare game in AH is very important.  I do not think that HTC would go to the trouble of adding new vehicles and making corrections and upgrades to vehicles if there was not a perceived interest by their client base.  So why not try to up the realism of the Tiger's performance and capabilities if there is a defeciency to be corrected?

When you say there are only 6 speeds now, are you counting reverse and neutral?

Was the original description counting these?

Personally, I'd like to see the speed differentials and correct gearboxes implemented as long as they are accurate.

He is not quibbling over anything from what I see there Iron.  All he did was post up some good solid information this and you go all crazy on him.  He was only asking a question and your upset because someone pp'd in your cereal this morning. (Don't worry Wooly I won't tell him it was you!):D
As far as measuring your... uh hum, yeah... just keep your little cross put away...  

Over all I think DOgg has a good question on this and I agree with BaldEagl on this and would like to see if what the difference would be.  Besides we do have some nice hills to climb on a few of the maps!

I for one will welcome the new vehicles.  I will not welcome anybody who forces Hitech to write more lines of code simply because his sources on the interbuts says that vehicle X had a WUNDERKIN, 10 speed transmission and was 2 Km/h slower than the way he coded it, and with an attitude of"by Cod fix it now or I will pout some more" BS.   I simply stated that it was a game play simplification.  And if he wanted a higher fidelity simulation he should find one outside of Aces High.  

If HT made a mistake and enough people complain about how the tiger is 2 Km/h faster than it should be then he will fix the speed issue.  If  however you want him to recode the tiger to add an 8 speed transmission, that also means redoing the whole thing including the mesh and skins to put the little 7-8 indicator for those gears that hardly anyone cares about, or will use anyway, then yes, I take umbrage at that.

People it is 2 Km/h, in 15 min that is an extra 520 meters.  Whoopde frikken doo!

I doubt anyone other than HiTech forces HiTech to write more coad. :)

According to the sources I have found which are at least 7 different places, the Tiger I had 8 forward and 4 reverse.
