Getting old sucks
« on: April 01, 2008, 06:34:53 PM »
So, I was getting sort of wheezy when I excercised hard, beginning around Nov last year. Thought nothing of it, wrote it off to cold weather. Ski season I was downright wheezing, but kept going up. Lifting weights, I'd get 10 minutes into a routine and the wheezing would begin...so I got a physical, chest Xrays, blood work, the whole 9 yards (Hello rubber gloves! ). BP was 120/82. Pulse 48. Oxygen level 100%. Chest x-rays negative. Doc says I got the body of a 20 year old (but the face of an 80 year old ) and believes I have what is called exercise-induced asthma. I have a 2 hour appt. with a Pulminary doc on Friday that I'm really not looking forward to (they stick a snorkel thingy on ya and make you run, but WITH your clothes on... )

Anyway, sucks getting old. That is all. Continue on with your pathetic lives, 47 years old is waiting for ya.

That would look strange, laying on a bench, with a spotter, pushing 285 lbs. up....with a vaporizer attached.

Anyway, I forgot to mention the doc perscribed Albeuterol (sp) and its working, but I HATE putting anything in my body except beer.

I get that sometimes.  I switch to Marlboro Lights for a few days and I'm good.

Depending on the pollen count (I think) I will get ExerInducAsthma or what seems to be it.

If I take a loratadine about an hour before I work out, it seems to eliminate it.
