Member's Mark  Glucosamine here too RIP. Say, what about this change from Chondroitin to MSM with the Glucosamine? I'm trying out the Glucosimine w/MSM instead of tried and true Glucosimine w/Chondroitin this go around. I also have stopped ALL over-the-head lifting. The human body was not designed for stresses THAT causes.

I have always been amazed by the sheer brute stength of the traps and the calves. Isn't it a wonder how your hands and forearms will fatigue and fail (without wrist straps) LONG before your traps even get thoroughly worked? Or how your calves can handle such vast workloads during calf raises? Amazing! My fav lift has been the flat bench press for 25 years. I love this lift, followed by incline bench, followed by inclined dumbell flys. I utterly despise the biceps curl in its various forms even though I've always done them. I hate the low weight ceiling of curls whereas the press seems to be almost unlimited. In the past 7 years, I've settled on particular a 5X5 split routine I developed over the years. I alternate it occasionally with two others that I throw in for the "shock to the system" value.

I too will not stop with the weights until the day I GET stopped. It is not a sport or a hobby to me, it is a lifestyle choice.

BTW, have I mentioned that Cheyenne, for all its great qualities, has the worst medical practitioners on this planet? It's true. I'm getting a second opinion from an endocrinologist in Ft. Collins, Colorado to check on my endo here. A personal question: do you prefer men doctors or women doctors or no preference? Myself, after seeing so many horrible, horrible male doctors in Cheyenne and elsewhere, I actually prefer women doctors these days.

Holy Crist...I think I've met my double!  :O  FYI, I think the reason the calfs and forearms hold up and fatigue less is the fact that they are a denser muscle group.  Flat bench is also my fav exercise, and I've given up on banging biceps about 2 years ago. I still work them, just not excessively.  I have the same routine regarding muscle groups but change the individual excercises for each group around for the "shock" value.  Day 1 is Chest and Triceps, Day 2 is Legs, lower back. Day 3 is upper back and biceps. 400 crunch situps every work out. It takes about 1.5 hours to do my routine, 4 days a week. I walk alot too, gave up running due to stress on the knees.

I once stopped in Cheyenne on a family vacation overnight, the hotel we were at actually had a free-weight gym, which amazed me because most hotels won't carry free-weights due to the possibility of lawsuits.  Anyway, I was about 20 min into my workout in Cheyenne and couldn't figure out why my butt was dragging....then I realized I was at 6,000+ altitude! :)
