all the timid ponies and doras?  It's basically all I see now.  Where are all the good ole days when you could get ganged on the deck by 4 la7's and 5 spit16's?  Now, if you don't fly above 16K, all you'll see is the underbelly of 8 ponies and 9 dora's! Even when you give them your 6, they make the half-hearted pass and run for 1/2 sector to climb out.

This entire tour for me has been spent looking up from the cockpit of my cartoon 38G and seeing nothing but speed burners BnZing me.  I don't know how many times I've been so low and slow then when I get mugged that I don't end up sitting in the wreckage on the ground having not blown up because I was too low and slow to die.

Tonite I was limping home from a fight single engine on the deck.  I'd actually made it away from the furball.  A 51 and a Tempest passed over the main fight to BnZ my wounded bird.  LOL it spoke volumes about the mentality of many in the game right now

But hey, it's their dime.  No risk, no reward.  I have come to realize that all that cartoon dying I do has paid off in that if I get someone co-alt, and alone, even if they are in a more uber bird then my 38G, I can usually take em.  And those fights happen just often enough to keep me coming back.

I've seen lots of high 51's lately, and behaving as you say.  They're up at around 20k ft.  They'll start to dive at me but as soon as they can tell that I see them, they break off and egress 1/2 sector.  On the few occasions that I've been patient and chased these guys down from their perch, many are weak pilots who run at the first sign of a co-e situation, even against aircraft they can out-turn.

Unless HTC creates a payment option that allows me access to Special Events only, at a reduced price, I'm canceling my account at the end of the pay period. I'm not paying for this garbage anymore.

I have found that the timid behavior is usually concentrated around the 1st of the month (score reset), but this month it is extending a little longer than usual.

The funny thing is, I've found 190 pilots bragging how well they use 'Gruppe' tactics against a single enemy aircraft with 'great effectiveness'.

As Corky said, it is their dime, but count me out of that riskless behavior.

dude, in the MW arena, it's been that way for a few weeks now.....it's part of why i don't make time to be on that much anymore......no one really wants to fight, they only wanna drop, pick ya, then climb up where it's safe../.

i was in a zeke last weekend.....had a mossie, made 3 swipes at me..which were VERY easy to avoid, and on each swipe, i grabbed alt as i avoided him. i got co-alt after a few minutes, and what's he do? he runs away...not extend, but friggin runs. last i saw him whilst i was facing his direction, he was 6k plus. i headed for a friendly field as i had a fuel issue, started my descent, and guess who's back? the mossie......barly in vis range. i tried to fool him and did a low slow pass over the runway hoping he'd try for the vulch, but nada......so i dropped gear and set up. on short final, i see the auto ack go off, so i pull in gear, and firewall the throttle......he DID finally try to vulch me. the only really good thing bout it(and friggin funny)is that as he went by, i got a round or 2 in him.....immediatly before he augered. was funny, but still not fun though.....miss the fun fights of even just a year ago.

I just up my g14 and go up high were the other astronauts are. If they dive i just find the next alt monkey and usually one of them will try to fight you, or they are so relaxed that they dont notice me or my tracerless 30mm.

Ill take alt monkeys over lala spixteens slobbering over my 6 at low alt any day.

i would normally think the same thing......but i can relate this to the auto parts business(i own a repair shop in nj).
i have trouble finding correctly fitting parts sometimes(even from NAPA), and according to my parts guys they're the exact listing. we had come to the conclusion that they consolidated the parts listing from...say 9 different part numbers to 2 part numbers. these 2 fit 80% of the vehicles out there, and they figure they can afford to lose the other 20%.
 kinda wondering if it's something like that here? let it go as it is, and if they only lose 20%, then they;;re doing ok?
don't get me wrong, as i love this sim(except for the picker/bnzer/hotards.......but it could be a money thing...it's also i think hard for them to sort out the ones we speak of too.

didn't want him to turnfight...just wanted him to fight for gods sake!!!! he wasn't extending. when you extend, you go to 1.5 or possibly 2k. this guy went out of icon range. then tried to vulch on landing. he didn't need any alt advantage, as he had speed, and could've still had a fun fight. i wasn't looking for a mossie.it just happened that i found one. i look for those i think will fight me. i jump into the furballs....even when i'm fling my zippo lighter.
the point is, that he could've found a way to fight rather than run.
