What you want is a dueling arena.

Have you ever flown in the DA? It's worse than the MA with all the gangtards in furball lake. Sure you can get some duals going in private sections in there but I've never really been into that. TBH I just don't like the private duals in most cases, I like to run into a random fight where you never know who or what the other plane is or what alt they will be.

I'm just not into the whole, fly the same plane as the other guy at a set alt.

For some odd reason I thought Aces High was about air combat not air quake.

If HT started charging by the hour so only the hard core guys would play then maybe you could get more air combat to your liking. Kind of like the old Air Warrior days when it cost $6.00 and hour plus long distance charges.

Bronk, he jumped into a fight with a zeke, probably knowing the ki84 nad pony were coming.  Did you look at the film?  Did you see how many came in and how many HO's he had to dodge? This is what I experience in the MA alot, bunch of fellas who could care less about "how" they play the game, only worried about landing kills on 200.  I mean, what was the 4th and 5th guys in, thinking, that they were going to come in and steal the kill of the other 3 friendlies that were already fighting Strafing?  What does this say about the community?

Sky I understand the point. Changing  the path of least resistance mentality is an uphill battle. It's the same mentality kids have when they DL every cheat code for a console game. They want it all and they want it now.

Getting a message of praise for a good fight when you were ganged....

Last night, I'm defending a V-base with an F6F-5. This base was closer to enemy airfields than ours and is rather close to the sector line as well. With the DAR down, you have little notice of incoming aircraft.

I had three kills, two GVs and one fighter, and was getting a low on gas. One friendly fighter arrives just as a mob of enemy fighters shows up. The friendly proved useless, not having a clue whatsoever. I shoot one P-51 off his six, but have to break off as I am the center of attention for the rest. The friendly bails out... I don't know why.

There's 5 enemy vs me, and they all have altitude and speed. Three P-51s, a Dora and a Spit8. I'm completely defensive, but manage to ping up a P-51's oil and he bugs out. After a few minutes, I ran out of gas. A sitting duck, it still takes them several passes to knock me down.

I then get a 200 message, the type of which I hate most: "Great fight Widewing, best all week. Not a single HO."

If his best fight of the week was a 5 on 1, he's not had any real fights. I thought that I would fix that for him.

I reply, "I'm coming back. If you guys have any sense, don't be there when I arrive."

Not really I understand what your on about and I do sympathize. I just think the nature of the MA is unchangeable. Your not going to shame people into changing. Especially when the BBS is the small vocal minority.

So we shouldn't try and change them because it's a upwards battle? Making people aware that it's a noobish thing to do might just change one or two or three players minds. Maybe this post will show someone the light. Hell when I first started I did the same stupid stuff but I saw the light and realised that there was much more to be had than being the 3rd or 4th guy on a single con.

By making public posts like this and calling them out on 200 I can only hope that it might show the light for another player or two. What needs to happen, is the community needs to step up and start playing a active roll in bringing some real fighting back to this game.

The situation at WW2OL is even worse. There's no killshooter over there, so everyone jumps the same con without any fear of the consequences. I don't always go looking for a 1:1, but I find that the higher I fly, the more 1:1 fights I get.

No I pretty much haven't even looked at AvA once they went to the land grab stuff. The last time I flew there, the axis ran up the coast of what ever map it was capturing base after base and they didn't defend a single one of them. It was all about the capture points and nothing about the fight. After that I never went back.
