fights and levels...
« on: May 26, 2008, 10:39:47 PM »
Don't know if this will fly, but here it goes.     I will duel people and give an honest and very respectful assessment that will determine a level.  Each level will have objectives to jump up to the next level.  These will be assessed my me annd an elite group of unknown badarses., and will include duels I witness, are involved in, and films that I have viewed of duels.
If you are interested in joining in on the idea, let me know and I will make it happen.

Egos are left at the door with this, as the main purpose is for individual improvement, and all involved will be halping the ones below them, with tips, practice sessions, and comradre!

:aok will be tallied as an IN!

I'm always interested in improving, if this can be a training tool then I am all for it.  I'm a bit dubious, however.

IMO classifying someone on a 'level' in this game is in vain because the game has too many variables to it.  I'm all for dueling and teaching people things and identifying their weakness/strong points etc.  But giving them a bureaucratic 'level' will do nothing but put a negative self-image over their heads. Like, "man I'm still on cherry pick tard ho'ing level, this sucks".  Maybe instead of level you should simply call them goals and set specific ones tailored to each pilots needs, since every player is different in style and abilities.  That's just my 2c and I could be completely wrong though. :)  Good Luck on the teaching tho, I'm horrible at it, lol.

I'm well aware of my "level" and it isn't good, but fighting a good stick 1v1 is always fun and a good learning experience.

too many variables to even attempt such a classification.

I don't care about the classification aspect, I would just like to fight some good sticks. It can't hurt my confidence any....and I check my ego every time I log in(sometimes I may forget however). I just think it might be fun.

That was my first instinctual response.  This sounds like nothing more then an opportunity for personal ego stroking and character assasination.  But I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt and make an attempt to help this to work, since it might be good for the game.
