I think Dan was laughing at the whole situation here. First it WAS pretty silly to be diving in on 30 planes with just one wingman. Second it WAS pretty silly that all those planes had such a hard time taking down only 2 P38... having all those cannons and all. Had it been and organised mission run properly, 4 planes would have been assigned to finish off the 2 38's and the rest would have continued on to the target of choice. Being the "horde" it truly was they ALL attacked with their cartoon pilots yelling "Mine, Mine, Mine" !! Which when you think about it is pretty funny too.
Falc, you seem a bit over sensitive to any one commenting on a large group of planes. The horde is what it is, and most missions are hordes. When you use brute force to accomplish you objective, you are leading a horde, plain and simple. When you break up that horde into elements and use strategy to complete your objectives then you are a mission planner. Your group likes to use brute force, more power to ya, its the way you like to play. Dan likes diving into a mess and laugh about the sillyness of the fight.
