Some screen shot for Bosco.
« on: June 27, 2008, 06:35:03 PM »
Hey first of all <S> Bud, that was a GREAT fight. I reviewed the film and I think I made a good call on that shot. I was worrying that I might have HO ya when you brought it up. When I fired, it was to my instinct to recognize the shot as a high deflection shots. As you can see at 400 yards out, I was at your 2 clock. As we close to under 100 yards I went to your 1 clock. I hesitate to fire and waited to 150 yards before I was sure it wouldn't be a HO shot. I'm glad I took the shot as I review the film.

Watch the film at slowed down pace, you can see my plane coming at you from 2-3 clocks and fire at your side as you go pass, you can see the rounds strike to the side.

It's not my intention to be argumentative.  I see how that is, indeed, a front deflection shot.  However, I would have called that a head on shot.  The angle off his nose really is almost trivial.

Having said that, to each their own whether or not to take that shot.  For my money, if you're going to take that shot, you might as well take a head on (your definition) as well, since in either case you're not really maneuvering for a rear aspect shot.

Just my opinion, and everybody's varies on this type of thing.  No right or wrong answer.

I think Bosco said that it was a HO, he may have had some guns on him from his angle of attack. Which I do not know.

I've only been here a few months........and I do NOT get this "ho" thing.  I assume it means a face to face shot.......and in close proximity fighting.....(ie battle).....what's wrong with that?

I can understand if you want to take a purist attitude........but that should be dedicated to the dogfight theater.....

Heck......if I run out of ammo and I can knock a bomber down to save my team bases by crashing into it.......all's fine in love and war.

Yenny, if you are going to come on the board and make a thread like this to "clear your name" everytime someone makes a complaint/remark/whine against something you did on 200, then maybe you ought to just squelch cross-country text altogether. You destroyed the enemy plane. The enemy plane did not destroy you. Consider yourself to have the last laugh and just let it go.
