It's not my intention to be argumentative. I see how that is, indeed, a front deflection shot. However, I would have called that a head on shot. The angle off his nose really is almost trivial.
Having said that, to each their own whether or not to take that shot. For my money, if you're going to take that shot, you might as well take a head on (your definition) as well, since in either case you're not really maneuvering for a rear aspect shot.
Just my opinion, and everybody's varies on this type of thing. No right or wrong answer.
