Just curious how many golfers are out there?  If so, what is your handicap and what kind of clubs do you play?

I just recently started playing again after a 12 year lay-off. Although I never established a handicap at any given golf course, I USED TO shoot about 14 over par on a 72 par golf course.

3 weeks ago, after 12 years of non-playing, I shot a 117 (18 holes) :(  I put away my drivers and shot a respectable 100 the following week (18 holes).  Last Monday I played 9 holes and shot a 39 so its coming around again.  I'm playing Orlimar clubs.

I have a cousin that was a scratch golfer while he was in high school.  Why he never tried to get a PGA tour card I'll never know.

I used to play about 10 years ago and had my cousin make me a set of custom clubs (he owned a golf shop at that time).  I do miss playing though.

Heh, my golf partner and I have been discussing bringing a camera and video taping our swings for analysis.  nice course there Curval.

My oldest boy just got a new set of Ben Hogan's (used, new to him) and he's started playing with us. He shot a 127 his first time out, not bad at all for 12 years old. Wife plays too.

Ripsnort, I took the game up again last year, after a similar length layoff.  When I quit the first time I had my handicap down to 12.  Now I am sitting about 15.  I am lucky to live in Utah where we have great public courses that are priced reasonably.  Most courses are $40 or less for 18 and a cart.  From what I have been told we have some of the best maintained "muni's" in the country.  Plus at this altitude that ball flies nice and far.  Last fall when I took it up again I bought all new gear.  Playing Taylormade R7 Superquad Driver, R7TP Irons, TP Wedges, and just bought the TM Rossa Monza Spider Putter, which is awkward at first, once you get used to it though it is fantastic!

Verry good!  Our public courses are between $38 and $44 near us. Very "green" needless to say with as much rain as we get.  An umbrella is part of our tool set in the Pacific Northwest.

You know those people you see on the "other" side of the gates in your neighborhood?  It's a place where "they" play golf. I have heard horror stories about these "types" having to actually carry and clean their own clubs, figure out their own yardage, and replace their own divots! Animals!

I was playing golf at Hanes Point, a public course in D.C.  The 7th hole on the red course  runs right along the park road... From the tee box i had a beautiful view of the Washington Monument and i kid you not... a drug bust... all while i was teeing off.  Hahahahha... i love D.C.  :devil

I love golf... I usually shoot in the 80's or low 90's for a round of 18.  I play with Cobra SS driver and SZ woods  and Taylor Made super steel irons

I love my clubs... i just wish i could play up to their capability.
