I find 200 quite entertaining. This is a very confrontational game and channel 200 is just a reflection of that fact. Getting some ire up on 200 can actually make the game even more fun as it involves the emotional element of adversarialism. Personal and country rivalries tend to add an emotionally charged dimension to the conflict that is often followed by a commitment of effort on people's part that goes above and beyond their minimal "gaming duty". This has the effect of making the gaming experience more intense for everyone, even those not directly involved in the discourse on 200. Obviously, there is a point when the channel 200 banter can become insulting, repetitive and inappropriate, but that is what individual discretion and the mods are for.

Glad that none of the banter was directed at me. Usually watch it for the gentle pokes at some ones being but seeing someone else being verbally (text) attacked worried me when my 9 year was reading out loud over my shoulder  :aok

"Smack talk" is IMO just another example of the slow death of civilization in the U.S.A. Most don't regulate their mouths enough when the chance of getting a broken nose goes down to zero.

Then again, 200 is easy enough to detune when it gets too nauseating.

If you lose sleep over being called a noob or dweeb in a cartoon game you should be escorted to the nearest mental health facility and checked out very closely. because the realities of real life would KILL you!

Smack talk is one thing.........

Some of these people are resorting to personal insults.

Example : calling someone a MEANY or a BULLY is considerably different then calling them a tard.....

Pretty sure the legal system agrees on such things as well....

That IMHO is where the line needs to be drawn.

If you are UNABLE to see the difference then maybe you shouldn't say anything?

GRADUALLY lawyers and the legal system are COMING to your PC, in the name of PC?, and probably eventually AHII and other online gaming communities.

This is just the latest report on law and the NET.

I've posted others of a similar nature in the past.

So for those that think they can say whatever they want.....

you MIGHT want to start rethinking that.....

It COULD become expensive.......

And a couple of little thoughts for all...

Manners have a purpose....

They can keep you OUT of trouble.....

and they help society to work MORE smoothly...

BUT

If you can not or will not control yourself DON'T worry!

The world has MANY people that want, VERY BADLY, to control you!

They just need the excuse that YOU'RE gonna give em!

200 channel is a result of throwing several hundred alpha males in a room armed with cannons, bombs, machineguns, and cool aircraft.

You scare me

I do :O

Why? :huh

Because I've seen this type of stuff repeatedly?

Because I'm old enough to remember things differently?

Because I've watched our FREEDOMS gradually get taken a little here a little there and seen it happen pretty much the same way with each issue?

Hey I've watched this kinda stuff over and over .......

Someone OVERDOES it or just plain ABUSES it or LEAPS OVER the TOP with what they THINK their freedom is, and we ALL get SLAPPED for it.....

AND we are of course told it is for our own good............

It's for the children?

BUT some claim that, in here, it IS the children doing it?

You should USE a right if for no other reason then to keep it BUT if you ABUSE a right....

knowing the difference between USE and ABUSE can be a fine line?

It was funny last night when a certain person was trying to intimidate me on 200. Not once or twice, for as long as he was logged on almost. This I think was the 2nd or so time that I actually tuned 200 to see what was going on there. Sure enough this guy was shooting his mouth in a way that I don't really see as smack talking but more closely related to whining.

The really amusing part was when the above not-mentioned person just totally shut up, after being shot down by me (and probably others in between) a few times. Plus I was starting to talk to other people on 200 channel, jokingly and in a good mood without paying any attention to him.

It was all good fun, actually one of the best nights in AH I've had in a long time.

If 200 bothers you, detune. Unfortunately however, there is no way to shut off a person who go at you on a personal level or for you specifically. I've tried to put an end to it, but to no effect really because people call me a whiner for that. So in that sense I agree with BnZ on the deterioration of society because of stupid people.

I don't mind the guys mouthing off on 200 that will actually go to the DA with someone.  I don't care what happens in the DA, either (if they win or lose, doesn't matter).  But to mouth off on 200 about wanting a fight, or getting ho'd or picked all the time, etc., and then refusing to go to the DA is about as pathetic as you can get, IMO.

A:  "You no skill tards need to gang me to get a kill!?!?"

B:  "If you want a fair 1v1, I'll go with you to the DA"

A:  "DA is for losers!"

Honestly, if you are player A, just shut up.

If someone privates you in an offensive manner take a picture and send to HTC.

Some here will say tattletale or whiner...

Consider this....

You can't meet the person, you have NO way to deal with the person that won't deteriorate into something ugly on 200 and possibly get some people muted or even banned soooooo...

And many people that SEEM to get off on being ********* online USUALLY would NEVER talk to you, in person, in the same manner...........
