This guy was there, too.  Parked right next to me.  Claimed he was in the government relocation program, used to fly some virtual vintage fighter game, and came from Oklahoma.

Look at muscle from 82 forward. Ford kicked off the HP comeback with the 82 Mustang GT. Everything has been getting better from there.

I think you were joking, right?  Everything after 73/74 was made for women.

How many of you have Real Muscle cars?
 1955-1975 cars only!

This is my 1969 Buick GS400 Stage1 Convertible.
Got this car for $600.00 back in 1989, I'm the 2nd owner. I drag raced the car for years, ran 13.62@102mph in the 1/4 mile. Then I found out how many where made and stopped racing it.

1969 Buick GS 400 convertibles: 1,776 made, and out of 1,776, only 212 had the Stage 1 motor.
1969 BUICK GS 400              Dsp/Eng          Fair         Good          Exc            Show
2D HARDTOP 1968-69          400/V8          $8,500      $16,500    $33,000        $40,000
2D CONVERTIBLE 1968-69    400/V8          $11,000     $21,500    $43,000        $52,000

Because he hates getting blown into the weeds by modern muscle. :noid

best thing about modern muscle, is that it'll outrun, outstop, outturn, and outdistance anything fornm the 50's 60's or 70's

79 mustang was that start :aok

it was the fox chassis. ford built 26(i think) different cars on it. the mustang was on the fox chassis from 79 till 03 or 04 i think,

1971 Dodge Charger here, getting back into shape bit by bit. It's the most basic model though, with the 318, so no real muscle there -- yet.

I wanted to see how many of you had real Muscle cars(i.e. the big money cars, 426 Hemi's, 427's, 454's, 400's, 455's Olds, Buick's and Pontiac's, 428 and 429's and 390, 401 AMC's and small blocks too, so on)
Many muscle cars where made from 1955-1975, Chrysler started it with the 300's Hemi's in 1955, and it ended with BOP's(Buick,Olds, and Pontiac) in 1975.

Side note the first real "muscle cars" where built in the 1930's, DUESENBERG had 270hp in 1930 with the inline supercharged 8(it would do 102mph in 2nd gear!!), and that was when V8 Fords, and Chevy's only had a max hp of 60.

If you want to talk about New muscle cars, thats fine.

Even before that, if you want to count the Stutz Bearcat, you can go back as early as 1911.

1966 Mustang Convt. Completely stock and all numbers match the originals back in '66. See at Hot August Nights in Reno this week  :aok

I had a `65 Stang convertible at one time. A biscuit can with wheels.
Hated the damn thing.

You have no idea Txmom. I said "started the HP come back". This car lit the fuse that started the hp wars up again. It was (by most of the mags at the time) almost 1 sec faster through the 1/4 mile than its GM counterparts. It woke GM up and they started building quicker f-bodies.
