it almost seems like a conspiracy... im about to land 4 kills and i press f12 to talk to someone nearby and the screen freezes for 6 seconds and the computer mocks me by waking up moments before impact. this happens about 6-7 times a night. usually in critical moments like landing or trying to tell someone to check 6. always when i have kills.

i realize the kills or critical moments have nothing to do with it, from a programming stand point, but it almost feels like the game has a grudge against me. lol

help!?

the game hates you, and its all Skuzzys fault  :D

Post your computer specs (DXdiag, first third), your in game settings, and whether you use custom sounds, and whos sounds. The more info you give the better the chance somebody can help you out.

Couple things come to mind. Check your sound card drivers for updates. Check DirectX sound acceleration settings. The slider wants to be set at the 3/4 mark.

Also a good idea to download video card drivers as well. Suffered months of similar misfortune and not a freeze since. (i don't need any help crashing)
"Then out spake brave Horatius, the Captain of the gate:
To every man upon this earth, death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."

click "start", then "run". in the dialog box type in dxdiag and click ok. After it loads (could take a few minutes) in the bottom right of that window it has a "save text file" button. click that and save it to your desktop. Open that new file, and cut and paste about the first third of the info to these boards

While you have the DXdiag open, click on the sound tab at the top. there will be a slider to move your sound acceleration down there. Also in the right hand column it will have the driver info. Go to the site for your sound board, and check that driver version with the newest versions they have released

Your DXdiag will indicate which sound card you have.
