They were all the rage a few years ago. Maybe the Spixteen/LaLa crowd took a vote and decided to move on.

Yes, its just as popular as the Spixteen and probably more popular than the LA7.  The only thing that really frustrates me with it, is that its a tough bird... there's been countless times I've hit a Niki with what in my mind was more than enough to take a wing off of anything else, to see it fly on.

The Ki is much tougher and does not catch on fire to easily. I had about 30 holes in me and was able to land 7 kills in this run. I'm sure it could not have taken much more but whoa, what a run that was.

I'll let Lusche pull up all the in depth stats. But the Niki is the 3rd most popular plane now by a good margin. The La7 is way down to about 12,000 last I looked, the Niki is over 26,000 so far this camp. Only the Spits and the P51 are more popular than the Niki at 60,000 and 29,000 respectively.

You see alot ofgoodsticks flying N1ks, this is probably because of the awesome firepower it has and how many kills you can get in it if you fly it right

Niki's are easy to down in the Ki-61.

I've never had much trouble with NIKI's, unless they get a snapshot on me.

i like to take advantage of there terrible turning by grabing zekes after SOMEONE (Allison)killed my a-20 but she went away then i tried to 110 and well....

They won't fly the Ki84 because it doesn't have the uber 900 rounds of potato guns!

Honestly, I keep asking myself where all the LALA's have gone.  All I've seen over the last 3-4 months is Spit16's and Niki's.  No one likes a challenge anymore I guess. 

I'm in favor of having the Spit16's and Niki's renamed "Easy Mode."

I would have never thought I would read such a posting on this BBS after years of "All you can see is La-7's, people can't stand a challenge and want to fly easy mode only"
