Whether good or not....is not for me to judge. (I am pretty tired of hearing about her husband being a champion "snow machine" racer, though.)
I will say, there was very little in the way of specifics contained within her speech. It was incredibly "soft". There was very little meat in this speech.... soft jabs at Obama and some relatively minor poo flinging, notwithstanding. I don't think she's helping or hurting the McCain Camp, I do think she's in waaay over her head. Her part in this election is slowly drawing to a close. The surprise factor is wearing off.
Her writer needs to be fired, as well. Talking about herself as a Washington outsider not interested in "the Washington crowd" doesn't really help her candidate, who has been one of those "insiders" for almost 3 decades. Perhaps the VP candidate is already distancing herself?
