A porn merchant? That sounds very Republican of you. Care to point out just what porn sites and such I'm a member of?
I'm sure I'm within the same rights as you to point out that you are a member of NAMBLA and the Society To Rape Underage Virgins (STRUV).

 LoL.  I stand corrected.  You're a fekin genius.

This, below, is what is downright scary, when talking about Palin.

Quote
Three months before she was thrust into the national political spotlight, Gov. Sarah Palin was asked to handle a much smaller task: addressing the graduating class of commission students at her one-time church, Wasilla Assembly of God.

Her speech in June provides as much insight into her policy leanings as anything uncovered since she was asked to be John McCain's running mate.

Speaking before the Pentecostal church, Palin painted the current war in Iraq as a messianic affair in which the United States could act out the will of the Lord.

"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God," she exhorted the congregants. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."

Religion, however, was not strictly a thread in Palin's foreign policy. It was part of her energy proposals as well. Just prior to discussing Iraq, Alaska's governor asked the audience to pray for another matter -- a $30 billion national gas pipeline project that she wanted built in the state. "I think God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she said.

RPM.. no problemo! I know you've got a brain; and I figure you've got your priorities. I like her, I like the concept, I like the platform. I especially like the fact that the next two months will be at least entertaining.

... and we'll both enjoy the VP debate; in fact, I'll hop out on a limb here and predict they will be more widely watched than the presidential debates.

Ain'tcha at least happy to be entertained?

;)

well said... *i disagree with the platform statement... but this should be fun  :aok

Easy, just work for NBC or CNN.

True.  Just mention that you've been in uniform, defending our way of life and suddenly you're a nazi supporter.  Did you see the BS the liberal media spewed?

That's such a joke.  Tell me you're not serious.

Christains and others...pray for guidance.  "Not my will but yours be done".  That's what she was asking for in that tape MSNBC played.

The hockey mom and lipstick line was an adlib.  She looked up, saw the banners and went right with it, then winked at the moms (LOL!), then dove right back in where she left off.  To pull that in the biggest moment of her life?  Wow, I mean wow...

you might want too go back a few hours to when the speech was released to the press before you say that

Sir, the simple fact that anyone has to deem a pipeline a priority of god.... it sounds, well, so 15th century.

Oh, trust me. I'll be entertained. This will be the best set of debates since '92. I'm still uncommitted and waiting for the silver bullet that will sway my vote. But the VP debates have historically failed to sway the vote.

Very good first speech for Gov Palin on the national stage in my opinion.  Nice points *for* McCain, nice use of her own experience *for* her party's ticket, and she didn't show anger or hysteria when pointing out the differences between the Repub and Dem candidates.  Her jabs were delivered with humor and irony, not the spite, jealousy, or irrational rage you expect from the Dems.  She didn't take herself too seriously, she laid out her position and took the opportunity to highlight a long list of ways where she and McCain differ from Obama and Biden.

My favorite part - she didn't portray her, her family, her party, or the American people as victims.  Not once.  Totally awesome.

I wouldn't call it a grand-slam home run, more like a long series of solid base hits and an occasional single-run homer that sent the crowd wild with applause or laughter.  I was laughing several times during the speech, and I think it was the right tone for her first major speech of the campaign.

Well done IMHO.

As a footnote, I think the presence of her family was appropriate and positive.  Her youngest daughter looked happy and cute, her infant son didn't seem to mind all the hoopla, and the rest of the family helped fill in the background of a solidly grounded hockey mom / mayor / governor / VP candidate.  People blathering about how her family shouldn't have been there are just pissed she's a good VP candidate and are grasping *anything* to bash.  It was appropriate and they seemed to both contribute to the event and enjoy themselves as well.  It's going to be a tough campaign and an even tougher 4 or 8 years if McCain / Palin are elected, so why begrudge them a little fun to kick it all off?  And puhleeze, the baby can handle it.  He looked fine and my own baby has fallen asleep quite comfortably in busy public places, so that's a pretty dumb thing to criticize.

glad to see someone who is sceptical but not closed to debate!

TWENTY-TWO years in uniform, for our country.  Wow..didn't know that.  McCain said he'd rather lose the election, rather than the war.

How can you not respect that?

How can you not respect a woman who's son and nephew are both serving to defend our country?
