Hope you guys down there stay safe. I'm a little bit worried about my mother-in-law. I sure wish she'd come up here for the weekend.

I didn't buy much.  This may actually be a chance to eat all of the stuff that we have packed in the pantry that we never eat.  I have always ranted that we have a year's worth of food and that there is no need to buy more.  'Bout to find out if I was right.  I'm prolly not.  She usually is.  Nuff said, here she comes, she knows I'm typing this.....

I was talking to a guy at the bik..............errrrrr motorcycle riders social club ;) yesterday who pretty well summed up the forecasts for
what Ike is going to do, what it`s actual track will be, wind speeds, etc.
I casually asked....."What ya think the hurricane is going to do?"
His reply-----> "It`s all depends on what channel you watch.  :rofl

Its sad to see people making fun of this tragedy that is ready to happen..yea go watch
football and bbq..mean while people are going to lose everything they have.
Texas has 35% of oil refineries in the U.S.. Billions of tax dollars will be needed to
rebuild.

Prices of fuel will go way up. thousands of people will be displaced. But at least
you all can get the rain you need and have a few days off to bbq and watch football.

Sad

Well, maybe some would like to make light of it, to better cope with what’s to come.  We/Most of us are adults and we know what fate awaits most & we do feel for them.

To pop off and assume that we have no morals is kind of atypical.

Most of us in this thread (Texan’s) are going to get hit HARD.

And show us where you get your stats. from.

Exactly.  The eye of the storm is supposed to come directly over Rattfink and I but we've done what we need to do to get ready.  Now it is just a waiting game.

We know what it's like to go through it so I don't really think we are being insensitive; however, I suppose if you are ultra-sensitive then anything bothers you.

I am hearing about a cargo ship that lost its engines as it was leaving Port Arthur to get out of the path of the storm and the Coast Guard is not able to go get the people off the ship.  Those people need our prayers.
