I arrived from San Antonio this morning around 8:00am and I haven't been home yet.  My plan for when the power came on was/is to play "Texas Flood" by SRV as loud as I can get it, no matter the time of day.

I got to finish Clapton's autobiography while hunkering down in Beaumont.  First thing I did when I got power was put in Crossroads Guitar Festival '04 and cranked up 'Cocaine'.  Finest version of that song I've ever heard.

SRV's 'Texas Flood' was kind of a no brainer.  So I went with 'Couldn't Stand The Weather'.

Thanks Bronk, <S>!

still in San Antonio.  I rode out the storm and stayed until tuesday morning but the power never came back so I loaded up the family and went to San Antonio.  They are hoping by monday for power.  My kids are out of school until next thursday.  No gas around were I live at times.  Good times.

I stayed awake for the entire storm, minus an hour nap when the eye passed over.  The backside hit and all hell broke loose.

 :devil,

Well hurricane Ike is making money for me, we sent technicians from our ARTCC here in Albuquerque to Houston.  So to cover the holes left in the schedule everybody else is getting a little overtime.  Apparently Houston's center was on engine power for 2 1/2 days.  And a number of the technicians lost their houses.  Other than that things aren't too bad four the FAA personnel still have not reported in the Fed is most likely because they're stuck on the road somewhere.  It sounds like the cleanup will be done for the FAA in a couple of days and then maybe I'll be able to get some sleep. :) it is interesting though that just after the hurricane the powers that be decided to top off my fuel tanks we picked up 7500 gallons of diesel day before yesterday, they give me about 10 to 15 days of uninterrupted power if I need it.

Good luck everyone,
Kevin
