When the film started I half thought this was going to be a breakdown on psychological fitness like a post-traumatic stress analysis but the temper thing? They were ready to put Hillary in a year ago and she would make volcanos look tame by comparison and now they criticize McCain for it? Very disappointing yet very typical too.

The only ones who have the right to judge him are those he served with and faced those hardships with.

Now this guy has every right to feel about McCain whatever way he wants. He served with him.
On the other hand. You could probably find other people who served with him that have a different opinion

By the same token I made that very same argument as to his experience not necessarily  qualifying McCain for being President.

Col. Day is the most highly decorated US veteran since Douglas MacArthur - MOH and everything else below. He was not only a fellow POW, he was John McCain's cellmate in prison. I read his biography last year:

In it, Col. Day's account of McCain's behavior paints a picture of a man who was valiant in his resistance to the North Viet Namese captors, and in his leadership of others to also resist. This from a man who spearheaded the resistance movement - once escaping and making it overland through North Viet Nam almost to the DMZ before being re-captured.

I think I'll take this man's account as accurate. It confirms McCain's account. 'nuff said.

Honestly, if anyone listened to Macs acceptance speech he said in no uncertain terms that he came away from VN a totally different person than he went.  So basically this guy is saying that Mac was a selfcentered hothead.  I think Mac himself acknowledged that in his speech.  He also said that while he was a POW he learned the value of his freedom and has never forgotten it.

If the best they can come up with is that Mac was a selfcentered hothead when he was young (most young men are) and that former POWs don't live as long as "normal" people, they are in serious trouble.

This was a very, very lame attempt at "swiftboating."

On the more serious note his temper and out of the blue pick of Palin with out properly veting her just shows the guy doesn't think clearly while under pressure. I can't say I'd want someone with a temper like that making decisions in a time of crisis that might take us to war or even a nuclear war.
