Top ranked player, No Class

Took a few days to think about posting this for discussion...

Scenario:
Mid-War arena
My plane: Spitfire 9
Enemy plane: 2 P38J flying in pairs

I got shot down by one of them 2-3 times in a row.
I never said anything and kept trying to defeat. These 2 guys were in sync and after few passes, one of them was lining me up every time.
Good for them and "good for me ! " Learning experience and the scraps were video recorded

Well the one who shot me down(2-3X) was obviously low in ammo and RTB.
The other one stayed.
I got up and this time the game wasn't so much fun for him
I'm an average pilot and play this game for Spitfires. I luv my Spit9 
As for the P38J, I know the kite theory wise. Pros and cons....

After a few passes, the pilot in the 38J(above me with E at all times) comes out and comments: " Flat turns are for newbies spitfire dweebs "
He was getting upset because he couldn't line me up !

I hope this pilot reads this !
If my actions were sooooo DWEEB or NEWBY or IF SPITS are for beginners only, why couldn't you finish me off ?

Then with time, I was at almost same alt but suddenly he was out of fuel(what he said) and had to rtb....

Conclusion: two average pilots met and either one gave each other a shot !

Real conclusion: One think he's better than the other because he's a TOP 3 fighter pilot in ranks/scores AND he lacks of patience

Ahhh we crossed each other after the initial scuffle.
He got me and I got him...
I use the .squelch and play the game...
All of my scraps are recorded for my learning tool.
When I view them, ya should see the comments he throws at me ! Hilarious !

What he does for RANKS and SCORES is sad.
I'm fighter sweeping for 20min and looking at the map, bombers are on the way and he's taking time to gain alt. Suddenly patience pays off ! I see the enemy formation and I'm above.
Suddenly POUF !  X3 Pilot bails out ! all is recorded !
Got one proxie out of 3.
Guess who ? The same TOP RANKED player...
Then the comments starts 

I have been playing for 3yrs(back from an 8mths leave) now and enjoy the game.
I've met many of you and have given you good scraps(win or lose)
Ack-Ack, Hired Guns, Muppets, Bi-Polar, Leusche, Mace, Hamer6 and many LTARS
Vonholtz and the list goes on....

As for the sad player, of all the "perk points" you have accumulated, buy yourself a personality and respect others !
If I was as good as you with top ranks, I would be helping the ones looking up to you ! You were a beginner once too !
Grow up ! This game is for mature players only

It's nothing new.  The pilots with high scores usually either fly with a wingman, with an alt advantage, or with reduced fuel loads to reduce weight.  Looks like you hit the pilot that used all 3 in the same flight.  The "smack talk" was just to try and get you out of your strategy and play into his by trying to convince you to stop using the flat turn.

The other strategy they use is to fly perk planes like the Tempest or F4U-C and go hunting against the unperked planes low on alt.

Yep Shawk is just TERRIBLE in the DA, granted your right on the theory - higher ranked tends to be less skilled however - look at the fighter rank to determine the better pilot. someone with 40 K/D ratio is likely to hit and run, someone with 2.5 k/d more likely to dogfight, or 0.50 k/d could be a base defender.

Initially thought this was about me.....then noticed Phil had put the "Top Player" bit in ......mighty relieved its not me.

Come across this at times, annoying, but not a major deal - just hunt em down and kill em again and again.

Using the SQUELCH works fine but when we review the films for learning purposes, these immature boring comments show up !
Can't deny it ! It does frustrate many of us !

Making comments simply for you to take the bait, I don't bite at all !!!
But making personal comments after the scrap regardless the outcome, com'on enjoy the game and leave me(us) alone !
If we cross, we will fight till death... If I come out on top, try again !
If I lose, I view the film and hopefully a better challenge when we cross again !

Yeah rank is meaningless....

I was defending a base (2-3 of us) vs a rook morning horde of about 10+ cons.. they finally established their cap, so i'm talking smack in tower...

this one rooktard PM's me (yeah, PM's, lol)  and tells me to up so he can kill me.. i inquire if he'll take that bravado to the DA... surprisingly he agrees..  i let him choose the ride.. spit1's... okaaaaaayy... say 7k pre-merge alt cap (base is 6k, deck is 4k)...  of course he shows at 10k+... he dies anyway... re-ups 2 more times in a spit5 vs my spit1 and even with alt still dies horribly....

So.. i get accused, "you either have stall limiter off, or you're cheating."  Of course I have the stall limiter off, duh...

I tell him i've only been playing AH 5+ years and then get called a "DA cheater"   yeah, right, okay... you been playing 7 months huh?  talk less learn to fight more, or stick to buffs and vulch hordes.

sad thing is...  this dweeb is ranked 167 overall... just goes to show the ranking system is entirely meaningless.

Hey OPP, it's been a while since I last ran into you with that Spit 9 of yours!  My opinion is don't let it bother you.  When somebody starts to talk smack, I try and ignore it.  When they PM me, that's when it gets annoying.  I usually ask them not to do it and if it persists, I just report it.  Yeah, it sounds childish but then again, it works most of the time.  

Hope to see you in the MW from time to time.
