Yeah, I find it very revealing that scoring is derided when it suggests competence and relied on when it suggests the opposite.
look at my score in mw. it isn't too bad.
the problem is, i REALLY don't think i'm tht good. i get beaten a lot. i get too focused on a single target in furballs, and thusly, i get picked...and i know it's my own fault at that point. i enter into fights sometimes with a known disadvantage, and pay the price. i take bombers in way too low. i do a LOT of stupid things ingame. my gunnery sucks BIG time.
but.....i do get some good fights against people of similar skill to me, and sometimes i get lucky and win. if i get over 20 hours in in a month, i'm lucky.
score is decieving. i feel that if i wanted, i could "game" the game, and improve it immensly, as i believe others do. i also believe the truely good sticks like akak, murdr, soulsys, lusche, etc., don't give two hoots about their scores, or any of ours. they truely seem to enjoy the fights, win or lose, and it seems they enjoy helping others to improve their skills.
i mostly look at my score page for only one reason. i like to know how well i'm hitting. i'm only 4 to 5% this month so far.....and that too sucks.
anyway, i guess what i;m getting at, is forget score, and enjoy the game. if someone starts spewing garbage at ya and getting under your skin, there's this great feature........the .squelch<player id>. i used it last night, and it made my night sooooo much better.
