It's been hinted at that if this years Con didn't turn out a reasonable number of attendees, it may signal the end for official AH Cons. Sadly, that seems to be the case. As a resident of Vermont, I can understand the travel restrictions in terms of time and $$$...air fares have jumped and even at $3 @ gal gas is no bargain.

A lot of players have requested a different venue city. Trouble with that is HTC is located and Grapevine and as we all know, the staff is small. Moving the location to say, Las vegas, east coast or (insert city here) puts it beyond the reach of Hitech & Co. The only Con held other than Dallas (I believe) was the Indi Con a few years back. That was only possible due to the enormous amount of time and effort DmdJordi invested to make it possible. I suppose mini-Cons...like the one Betty slapped together in Dayton last summer will be the way of the future.

Those of you close to Dallas, hope ya drop by Grapevine this weekend. My sincere thanks to NoBaddy, SB, LW, Coach and the other "behind the scenes" guys who are making this year's Con possible...not to mention HTC.

Lots of Finns flying while under the influence.

And yes, 15hours of airplanes and a quite significate amount of waiting, traveling and money, keeping me away from the CON  :salute

Well, it’s held in TEXAS… And I’ve seen what the state does to people! After just a short time they come back soft. Unable to handle even the mildest midwestern winter.

It may just be something in the water over there… But I don’t want to risk it.

It ain't over 'til the fat lady sings (and I haven't even started to tune up  :devil). Coach, SB and I will be discussing the likelihood of a con next year and hope to say 'yay' or 'nay' in a week or 2.
