Ah well, thanks for the response. I got impatient and picked up the regular version, and have just started wandering a bit after exiting the Vault. So far, so good... Tonight I'll be installing a few mods - More detailed night sky, power armor stat rebalancing, repair using similar items (Chinese rilfe -> regular rifle, etc).

I'll hold off on my thoughts until I've played a bit more.

Have a powerful gun and blast it's head off with VATS. Of course it helps if you have a cannon fodder with you.. i mean an AI guy.
It also helps if you cripple it with a mine.

Where did you get the mods, No Mutants Allowed site?

Alien Laser Pistol shot to the head.  If you have high points into energy along with the sniper perk, usually 1 shot to the head is sufficient.

Can't remember exactly where but I'm pretty sure you'll see a crash landing and find it near there.  I actually beat the game and never saw a Super Mutant Behemoth myself.  I'd like to take a crack at them on very hard when I start a new game.

Fallout 3 gets a 9.9/10 from me!  Only thing keeping it from 10/10 is that you can't free roam after beating the main story.  My only save slot was the autosave and in the last room the door locks behind you.

I beat the game too, I just went back to the save before going into the cave to the vault.

Bodhi, almost straight west of Green Pastures waste dump, stuck between the North-South and East-West roads and mountains on that part of the map. NE of radio antenna MDPL13 and SE of Clifftop Shacks. I don't remember any high spot where you could recognize it from with a sniper rifle or something, but that's probably enough for you to easily find it.

And yeah, it's too bad they didn't work more story into it.  There's plenty of material for it.

Found a cool mod that will allow you to continue the game after you've finished the main quest line.

Continue after MQ mod

There's a lot of other mods on this site.

Cool.. There's a ton of small annoying things that could be fixed by simple mods.

From http://fallout3nexus.com/

I'm planning on:
-Slower weapons degradation - because firing 3 clips from a magnum should not reduce it 20% (Some users report problems with different version of this, so I'll add it last and see if the game refuses to load)
http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=70

-Enhanced Night Sky - much cooler and more detailed night sky
http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=442

-Better Power Armor - because I think power armor should be the ultimate in wasteland badass apparel, and it's silly for ranger armor to be better...
http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=117

-Cross Repair Weapons - So similar weapons can repair each other, like chinese assault rifle <-> assault rifle & 10mm pistol <-> 10mm SMG
http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=183

-Cross Repair Armor - Same (Outcast <-> Power Armor, etc.)
http://fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=333

Maybe a few minor armor texture mods, too. :)

Ironsights and unhandicapped movement would be cool.  Thanks for the links.

Another easy mod, if anyone has the know-how.. Whistling for the dog to get back to you, rather than go through the whole dialog.  It could be just a sound played, or an ultrasonic whistle or something.

Anyone know if you can do something with the dozen+ nukes in that bunker/building to the NW?  I activated the ICBM but it looks like it doesn't do anything besides let you hear it launch?
