how much better is it on the PC as the Xbox? My brother got it for xbox yesterday, I have not left his house since then. Anyone else kill everyone in megaton? We slaughtered everyone and found a shed load of money and items. If you go to the blue lantern there is a floorsafe with 300 caps in. Im going to pillage it all before i set the bomb off.

I've had Fallout 3 since it's release.  It'll get my vote for game of the year.  I've played and beaten it under good (very) and bad (very) conditions, and they both offer 50-90 hours of extremely solid gameplay.

This game should be on your Christmas wish-list, if you're a fan of RPG/Action games, this is the one for you.

i dont know about the xbox resolution, will ask him thanks frenchy. I dont really do the quests unless its simple, I am following RumbleB's fine example or slaughtering anyone who annoys me. Keeping rivet city sweet to trade with. I killed some paladins to get their armour only to find out i cannot wear it. sold it for a good price. My karma is really bad, the regulators keep trying to kill me. Amazing game i wish i had it for my pc.

talon were friendly to me untill i singled out one of their sentry and killled him for the armour. They were not happy, so we raided their base and kill them all. At the Oasis i choose to let the tree spread. then when mother leaf whatever thanked me we blew her face apart and killed all the hippies. Considering setting him on fire now but want to see if the trees grow out into the wasteland. Yes i know, im really late in this thread, we poor folk have to wait for the 3 month released discount time :D

Well I've played 4 separate characters up to level 20 now.

Finished the main quest 4 different ways. (freeplay mod)
Played it as good, bad, and neutral, and various levels of each.
I'm playing it on hardest settings now, experimenting with new hideouts, weapons, and settings.

I'm averaging 40 hours a week in Fallout3, and have been since it was released.
I'm still finding new quests, new locations, new ways of playing the game.

This character has father issues, so he's not looking for dad at all.
He didn't like the looks of Burke, so he just walked up and killed him.
Then disarmed the bomb in megaton just for spite. Then when Tenpenny sicked the talon mercs on him
walked to tenpenny tower and killed the old man. Lots of side quests but dear old dad is on his own.

Current favorite mods.
Xrepair (makes keeping weapons in repair a bunch easier, can use wrench's and scrap iron)
Better Regulator Duster (brings the regulator duster up to a more reasonable armor level)
Echo Battery charger (adds a "workbench" that lets you turn E cells into MF cells, & vice versa.
Slaver stick (works better than the mesmetron, needs no ammo, lighter)
The Hideout (puts a garage hideout, with hidden vault next to megaton, very handy, full of goodies)

I have to give the good folks at Fallout Nexus a nod.
They have IMO the most mods, and the best, and they are easy to browse.
http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/categories.php
Browse catagorys, then once the category loads I sort by upload date, descending so I see newest mods first.

I really like how people in the game treat you differently depending on how your playing it.
My good characters have people coming up to them giving them things.
Bad ones are always hearing snide comments like "thats locked for a reason"
or "I have my eye on you".

I have yet to fully map out the subway system. I've discovered different parts of it at different times.
But never really took it seriously, its almost like a separate game within the game. That sounds like a good job for my next character. :)

I'm in the process of exploring the entire map.  Doing so is a considerably difficult task, very time consuming.  I wish that once you get the explorer perk, that you'd be capable of fast traveling to any location, regardless of traveling via foot.

What's your favorite aspect/part of the game?

favortie aspects are the attention to detail (my god it must have taken years to make this world) and the fact that you can trade then kill em and take the money back. Everything about the game is so damn perfect i find myself shocked when i run into a small bug in terrain mapping or such like. Most games i have 100 things i would have done differently if i had made it, it's hard to find any with fallout.

It will be the game of the year, for sure.  But I wouldn't say it's perfect, some of the glitches (numerous) are annoying, and distracting.  Overall though, I'd rate it near perfection, but there will never be a perfect game, in my opinion.

Here's a quick list of things I'd ask to be changed/added:

*More interaction with unplayable allies i.e Dogmeat/Charon.  Imagine being able to tell Charon to cover your six, or to ambush an approaching enemy.  Also, they should be able to jump, it was funny at first watching them get stuck behind something, but with time, it grows irritating.  I'd love it if this game were co-op through the story mode.

*More missions.  Yes, I'm being greedy.  The first time I played the game, I believe my total play time was well over 90 hours.  I love games like that, when you shell out $60 for a video game, I want my moneys worth, not any of that 6 hour bs (looking at you Star Wars: Force Unleashed).  Every town/location should have a side quest, or objective of some sort.  I remember going through locations expecting to find some quest, or objective to be disappointed that there wasn't one.

*Combat.  VATS is cool, but if you're not using it, combat gets difficult.  Shooting someone in the head with VATS is 100x more effective than not using it.  Better balancing on combat.

*Not being able to kill the little piss any mayor of Little Lamplight.  I wanted to blow his head off.

*Weapon customization.  You can build some cool, and some awful weapons.  I'd like to be able to mount a scope, or silencer on the combat shotgun, or the Lincoln repeater.  Or to put custom markings on your armor, like your name, or gang symbol.

*Losing karma from stealing in a lawless world is eh.  I understand murdering, but stealing, even from a bad character resulting in loss of karma is kinda lame.  I do like the whole karma system though, it's very original, as far as I know.

If I had more time, I'd continue with my "wish-list".  There are customers in the store.

Over 14,000.  That was the second time through.  It helps when you explore a lot of areas, and have the extra cap finding perk.
