Disappointed to the point I dropped out before the hord reached the target..... which it should have not been hitting.

It felt a little hollow. It was nowhere nearly as tight as it should have been, I saw barely any action, barley fired 400 rounds. :furious

Could have been better, but she was a sight to see. :rock

:salute That was some fine flying, Delta.

While many Bish jumped ship to join this thing....It burned the crap out of me to hear the spy hype only to see the Knits up nothing but German Iron and see 262's on the rook side. The really sad part is the Rook planning was top notch.Fantastic.Im sorry it was tainted by a few arse munches that had to try to game the whole thing. You 262 pile its for rooks. You will forever be known to me and others as a holes. The few that cant let anything good happen in this game.Your the type that vulches memorial missions and you can all apply lips to my arse. You know who you are.And now so do we.Pathetic examples of dog cap.

Simply ashame that it was so deep into Knight/Rook territory that none of the Bishops really got to join in without jumping countries.  Might have been fun, but as Bishop, we were left out.

Drdea...don't mince words..say how ya feel man :)

I had fun, but my slow pc made it tuff. Seemed like icons were poppin in out of the blue for me. I made it to the first drop with 1 ship with no ailerons and somehow calibrated and took out 12 targets in assigned sector of city. Then I dove out to try to rtb but was caught on the deck.

 :huh

I upped a 51 for the intercept... 35k+ is a bit far for me to climb but what the heck... got only 1 kill before i was PW'd by a 17.. bled all the way home.
The mission sure was a sight to see.

Fun while it lasted.  Our B-17's got jumped before we even got out of our own airspace and we didn't keep the bombers bunched up enough.  Delta tried to power back and get all bombers grouped but Green group got decimated before Red and Blue caught up.

Next time we need some rule preventing cons from jumping the bombers before we even get to altitude or enemy airspace.

I had a good time.  A little over 1 hour in flight, 1 Ta152 kill, and covered Yanksfan while he got another.

What was interesting was to see all the griping, in particular on country.  For once it's a mission not just base taking, and you've got furballers and base takers involved to try and do something different, and folks are griping about not defending the map, what's the point because you aren't taking a base, and my favorite, "This isn't what the MA is for".

It was wild to see the first wave of 262s, followed by the 109s and Ta152s.  A bit of history, cartoon style come to life, was nice.

It looked good headed out.  nice to get the 474th J and L out together again

The rendevous over the bombers looked good as our flight of 4 38s came over the top

Nice to mix it up at higher alt with a 152 and get him.  Yanksfan was flying some great wing.

And always a rare treat to bring my bird home.  100 fuel and 2 DTs burned, and almost out of gas.  Yanks wasn't too far behind me.

Had one of my most fun sorties yet in this game.

I was in a 152. Lowpoint was at the beginning, as my FPS dropped per usual around large formations, and my attacks on the bomber formation were ill timed and sloppy as a result. To complicate matters further, the escort did a much better time this mission than last. I quickly wound up with five or so angry 51's getting behind me for the apparent kill. Got pinged a ton, my forward fuel tank got hit, still at high alt but I figured I was a goner because in a few more imminent pings and I would start losing important pieces.

At this exact moment something happened I would love to have taken credit for, but it was random luck. My jinking created that crazy flat spin that the Ta-152 often gets into, and I started to drift down out of control in the same way as if I had lost my vertical stabilizer. The 51's saw that motion, figured there was no way I'd be in that exact spin unless a very critical piece is missing (that assumption is correct for every plane except the 152), and they broke off, figuring I was as good as dead.

I fought the stall for a good minute or so, losing about 15k altitude. I was now down to 10k. No more sight of the bombers, and a few escorts still overhead but maintaining discipline and not coming down to me just yet. With my fuel much lower from the fuel leak I decided to RTB in a general direction of where the bomber form was headed; maybe I could pick something off low. After 5 or so min of eastward heading, the remaining high fighters got antsy and decided to come down on my lone 152. Luckily for me, they came down one by one. I had three consecutive intense 1v1 fights, going from 10k all the way down to the deck in the process, and was all was said and done I had downed two 51's and a LA-7 and not taken a hit (luckily, because as I said a few more pings and something was bound to fall off).

Now I was really low on fuel, and had to start moving throttle and rpm towards max cruise. With about 6 more enemy fighters high beginning to wonder what happened to their buddies down low that were last seen trying to take out the lone 152, I decided to really get down to the deck and hope I could escape unnoticed. I flew across 2 and a half sectors of full enemy darbar unseen by hugging the deck as close as I could, managing throttle the whole time to save fuel. Literally all around me at low altitudes were the dots of enemy fighters who had fallen low behind the buff stream, searching for easy targets. My wounded 152 on the deck at max cruise would have been exactly what they were looking for, if they found me. I zigzagged this way and that to avoid icon range, which only made my fuel situation worse. One sector away from a friendly field I got a check six call: an enemy 51, entirely unseen by me, was 600 and closing on my six. Break turns when you are at max cruise are never good. Luckily he missed his shot, and myself and another friendly fought him in another good little fight for about 2 minutes before he went down.

Got back to a vehicle field with 2 minutes of fuel left, fought off another nasty 152 flat spin as I was getting into landing position, touched down and landed successfully. 4 kills, but they all felt very well deserved. Don't know if the overall mission was a success or not, but getting back successfully was the real fun for me this time.

i couldn't go but my squaddie F77 was in a b-17
(blue group, thank god it not green from what i heard)
my other squaddie's (KCfood) friend made him crash and die by hitting the joystick. (he had been waiting 3 months for this thing(bummer)) so kcfood joined f77 b-17 and shot down 2 me-262s, it was fun to hear the story.

wish i could have come but my lag kept me from doing so.
