I occasionally post a themed mission, usually historical in nature.  Rarely get many participants, being knit. All my missions also have a tactical purpose, usually taking pressure off another base.

I think that even if one were to make a base capture mission and keeping it somewhat accurate in nature posting a defensive mission on the opposing side would be fun. Axis vs Allies style. One side could stay axis or allies for a week or maybe just the day. Maybe I am just saying what is already done on Squad Ops. I do suppose though, also that if one wanted really accurate fighting then maybe the Early Arenas might be the place to fly.. The furballs that were flown though were awsome..

If you get to close to bases the tardlings will up in force to intervene, So far the 4 missions I've ran were at least 1.5 sectors away from bases and still had intruders,  and you'd be suprised who they were and the squads they came from  :rofl :rofl

this has to be planned well and the fight over fairly quickly so the uber ride intruders don't have time to make an influence on the fight.

My intention is NOT to make a real chore of it. Actually the few I've pulled off have gone very very well and were allot of fun. It will just take exposure and familiarity so when it is announced everyone in LW arena knows whats goin on and they'll either join or stay out alltogether, tis my hope anyway. These fights were over rather quickly and "so far" looks like it is a hit. This will stay in the LW arenas as a "short term break from the monotony of the LW,  so far so good  <S>

I've put together so many Candy Mountain Mishun's and have many still on film.

I am pretty sure I hold the Single Mission Record for Stukas (It's over 70+) and the goal is to have fun.   This one was after a Mishun with 54 of them flattened two bases.   We overlooked the Goons and everyone STILL HAD FUN.    The 70+ mishun had two goons and the base was flattened by Stukas with no escort.

"The Truce" quite possibly the largest Mission ever assembled in AH2 history.   IIRC we had about 120 Rooks and almost 80 Knights working together to reclaim our FT bases back.   When I logged, I was drained from flying, coordinating via PM with WMLute and RacrX and with Rooks.   I logged on to see Lazer pissed off, instead of griping, I started a "Truce" to act on it.   It worked, unlike the "Common NOE toolshedders that plague the Arenas these days who "think" they are "the Elite planner."

I already miss Raptor and Corky and I pray they return.

Where do I begin?   Meeting off of the Uterus (in the South) map and dueling 6 B24's per side?    Organizing a fighter sweep on Baltic map, going from 41 to 45 in B17's otd (IIRC, we had 20 single bombers with a gunner each)?    Many Val mishuns.   Even one that we ran from a CV in rookland near A17 (SE island on Uterus) and flew all the way to A1/A19 surprising the piss out of Knights and Bishops alike?

I've even duped some into "Torpedoes on the town"!   Why?   So all that join will GUARANTEED To laugh and have a good time.   They always do.   It is what "Karaya is really about."   But some choose to be conflictual in the game and "try to sway others from joining my missions, solely out of spite."

Last week Rooks were whining about no Missions, I post a valid Non-NOE mission, only two joied and thus scrubbed it.   Stupidity now runs rampant in the Arenas and is accepted by most.    I act on things, but most in game are content with useless lip service to silence their "minions".

Not long ago I suggested a mission system to naturally support just these kind of things (wishlist forum):

Once again these missions have NOTHING to do with base capture or anything going on on the map at the time. Just 2 countries upping as many peeps as possible, " hopefully fairly even " with historically accurate adversaries, and merging at a predetermined altitude for a quick yet violent furball just for fun. It has been quite a HOOT!   The 202 and 109E  VS  spit1 and p40b was a real blast. My fav so far! :rock :rock
