Count me in!

DA is the only arena that gets no real oversight by anyone, mods, CM's, or trainers.
As a result a lot of  slime has collected in there, and it is breeding at an alarming rate.

Time for a big shot of chlorine, clean out that particular gene pool.
Disable squadrons, do away with F3 view, shut down perk planes at the furball lake.

Oh yeah, forgot about that one!

And how about some 40k mountains around the furball area?

Gents, this thread is to abolish the landing/kill messages only, mostly to curb the picking and endless hording that goes on in the DA.

I'm sure there are many other changes we would like to see, but I'd rather not make this thread too diverse.

so if there are no kill messages...everyone will change what and how they fly?  I could care less either way...just dont see how removing a kill message is going to change a person.

Alas, I find myself compelled to make a serious reply. I don't really see the importance of all this myself, why there is so much upset myself. The Furball Lake is what it is, which IMO is basically the same treatment you get in the MA, only with less climbing and less time enroute. Good way to get a quick dose of gunnery practice basically. I don't see any changes suggested changing the way people actually fly there, nor do I see how anyone has been prevented from actually dueling in the DA because of the Lake over there. I mean, my attitude is that it is the "Just fooling around for a few laughs, It doesn't matter"  part of the arena. I have more important things to be outraged by than running Tempests and getting ganged over there, etc.

Anyone with me?

If they aren't, they're landing kills.

Motion seconded.  Picktard Lake is out of control.

:lol  I'm with ya, and I've landed kills in the DA before because I wanted the C-Hog tards to see 7 kills in a P-40. :P  (Not like that's a challenge against their piloting skill, but they need to see it's possible to succeed in something different).

I can see that being quite satisfying.

After a couple rearms, I bet it feels great to silence the kid landing two kills at a time in a Tempest (and simultaneously informing everyone else how much they suck) when you land a couple dozen in one shot with a 109E or a Spit I.

Actually, I think Ill do that tonight to shake the out-of-town weekend rust off before I go get ganged in the MA.   :)

Saying there's no change from removing the kill messages is not an opposition to this idea. If it doesnt change anything, there's nothing to lose from doing it.  It'll remove the apparent equating of hard earned kill streaks from cheap picks.

Since it is the Duelling Arena, how many kills you land should not matter.  The emphasis should be on arranged duels between 2 people, not how many kills some 8 year old can pick his way to in a tempest while spewing squeak and bile.  Get rid of the messages.

I think the "name in lights" as well as "You just show down Pacerr" should be got rid of as well.

There is no need to know who you shot down or who shot down you.  It serves no puropse and it clogs up the txt bar.

The REAL sad thing is HTC doesnt even appear to want to try some of these suggestions on a trial basis.  Why not try the no "name in lights" or no "You shot down SHawk" for a tour and just try it out???

HTC??? Care to comment???

I agree.  Just because you remove the kill messages is not going to automatically reform the player and make him stop his 'tard way of flying.  Just like removing the late war planes is not going to stop the someone from upping another plane to continue their 'tard way of flying.

It's not about the automatic fix though. That's not realistic. Removing kills landed messages is a small step that leads to fixing a poisonous community over time.
