If you disable kill messages in the DA then how will the TAs Aerofighters ever see their names in lights?...... :cry

Exactly the way I feel grizz, but I think it would cut the amount of dweebs by more than half.

Probably, I was trying to make a conservative guess instead of saying it'd wipe out over 80% or whatever.  It would wipe out at least half for sure but who really knows until HTC tries it.   :aok

And on a side note.  HiTech could really show the vets that he does care about them and how the mass numbers (while great for business) have hampered main arena fun for them.  Take steps necessary to clean up the dueling arena so it can be used for its intended purposes:  Duels and good fights, where ACM enthusiasts can learn how to fight the proper way.  The place is currently a cesspool, the Mos Eisley Cantina of Aces High.

They'll still be able to see their names in lights when it displays the name of the player that just shot them down.  :rofl

Saw a guy tonight sitting at about 15k near A2 in an F4U-4. Every time you climbed up to him, he'd climb a little bit higher and continue picking, finally topping out around 25k. Eventually after chasing him for a bit I tired of his "game" and dropped out. Meanwhile he makes a mach-speed dive on a squaddie, (we're familiarizing ourselves with our FSO mounts. the picker missed, btw) blows too much altitude, and egresses out towards his base. I hung around a bit while I watched and continued climbing so now have him right at co-alt, I turn for him in a level pursuit.

By this time I'm the only hostile plane anywhere NEAR him. It's definitely on for a clear and even 1v1.

He runs for his field and dives for his ack and buddies soon as he sees me coming.

I make a pass through the gauntlet for at least one shot at him, get an empty fuel tank holed, and decide I don't want to get mobbed by the horde for the sake of one picktard who doesn't have the guts to meet an opponent one on one even though he's flying the BEST all-around dogfighter in the game.

On behalf of all REAL Hog pilots in the game, I am TOTALLY embarrassed to see such a miserable display of flying. It was a total disgrace to the plane.

Oh, and then he landed and the global channel was filled with attaboys and pats on the back.

I'm just as embarrassed when I see it there, too.

You're in a plane that can handle pretty much everything in the plane set in a 1v1 fight. Fly like it.  :furious

If they care about their "name in lights" and you take that away from them, they'll just move to the main arenas.

In other words, if you don't like what they're doing in furball lake, stay away from furball lake and leave them alone..
Yes, but in the MA there will always be someone higher..The real problem in the DA is that HTC lets people fly out of cockpit...So a lot of the new peeps learn to fly that way...Now when they go to ma they can not fly in the cockpit....If everyone can remember before 8 player was deleted that's when the major numbers started to appear in the DA...Before that there was only duelers in there and  a few squad members practicing...IMO   allowing the 3rd person view is the real problem, along with keeping monthly stats...There are people in there that really track there kill to death and stuff like that :rofl I have had words with several players in there on different occasions ,and they like to throw the "well look at ur score u suck" card in there :huh Most the people in there are x 8 player peeps ,or new people who like the 3rd person view...As far as the squad thing in the Da goes it is just a lot more easy to track squad members if there in a squad in all the arenas... :salute

+1.

Also enable the 262 on a few bases so we can enter the danger zone!

When i started playing 2 years back the da was 10x better. I accutally learned in there by 2v2 duels or 1v1s many fights with agent360

where he helped me out. I went in there the other day. I thought I could get back in the game, as I was off for a year and wanted to refresh

with some 2v2s or 3v3s and was shocked to find it was just a mini MA pickers and gangers no real fights. If taking the kill/landing messages

out might help iam 100% for it.  :aok

I don't think it will help as much as people are hoping it will. Remove one aspect from the game and the "PicTards" as you all call them will just find another way to annoy you. You can keep asking HTC to remove things or limit things but in the end that is going to cause this game to defeat itself..

We want to eliminate the kill messages because that's what seems to motivate them. If you take away their motivation...

The dueling arena is the place where people in the MA who prefer sportsmanship are told, quite forcefully, to go...  There is absolutely no need for a landing-kills message in there.  It's just salt in the wounds for some people, and encourages the same horrid gameplay that the landing-kills message  encourages in the MA.

The dueling arena is supposed to be an alternative to the MA's poor gameplay.  It is not supposed to be MA 2.0.

Actually that is the fly in the ointment on this wish.  As it is now, if you disable "name in lights" in the arena setup, it also disables "you shot down ----"/"---- shot you down"
