My guess is the crappy economy is affecting HTC just as much as any other company...perhaps more so since they are a small company.  They already give a discount for yearly pre-pays (which they don't have to do in the first place)...don't take more food out of their mouths.  We are all affected, and some re-alignment of priorities may be necessary from us all.

...and not to put a further damper on this thread, but $15 a month is nothing.  

If one cant easily find $15 a month to play this game after all the other bills are taken care of and food is on the table, etc, then it is time to trim your beer budget, smokes budget, pRon budget, or other such "fun" budget in order to play.  If one stop and thinks about it spending $15 a month to play this sim/game as much as you like is quite cheap vs going to a bar and paying $15 for 3-4 beers in an hour or so should be a no brainer.

That's the solution in a nutshell.  Because everyone is worried about losing their job they are hording cash.  This just leads to less revenue for companies meaning they must reduce their costs.  Hence the job cuts, and so more fear, and more hording of cash.
