The 6 point vector looking requires too much distracting contortionism in my chair to make it worth using for what it doesn't give you. If you use 2 point dot tracking and go back and clean up your saved F10 views, I think the outcome is better

Personally, I find that leaning back/forward, left/right, and up/down with the Vector works very well and feels pretty natural. Without support for the Vector, my TrackIR viewpoint is restricted to rotating around one, fixed point. And that feels weird to me.
I agree that "birdcage" canopies with all the frames are annoying: check out the girders and beams on the ME-109G-2 canopy, or that silly greenhouse on the ME-110!
Oh, and I have one button on my throttle programmed as the TrackIR on/off toggle, and another as the TrackIR "center view" command. I use them both, especially the "center". For example, when I'm setting up for a shot, I'll hit "TrackIR center" and the Aces High "zoom in" view command.
