What do you think is the hardest, or toughest, plane to shoot down?
Here is my selection.

2.   P-38
3.   P-47
4.   Yak

262 is practically untouchable.

Of those that can be hit on an every day basis, I'll nominate Lancasters. Those buggers can shrug off lotsa damage from my unconcentrated hits :)

there aren't any 'hardest' aircraft to kill, just tough pilots to kill.

Only if it's flown right. Get it low and slow in front of my D-40 and it'll go boom like the last 2 did.

I love getting in this bird and sticking low to the ground in a dogfight.  I usually get people to over shoot & auger.

The aircraft which usually have me thinking WTF after i nail them, and they fly away blisfully unaware that anything has hit them are: -

B-26 - seems incredibly tough, too tough in my opinion
F6F
F4F/FM2
P-38 - usually it just loses pieces, smokes different colours from various places, turns into a single engined aircraft.
