this is my personal favorite:

"Now, if I had to make the choice of one fighter aircraft above all the others...it would be, without any doubt, the world's greatest propeller driven flying machine - the magnificent and immortal Spitfire."
Lt. Col. William R. Dunn
flew Spitfires, Hurricanes, P-51s, P-47s, and F-4s

axis & allies hands down.

my brother and me would have epic 2 player games where the whole goal was to amass enough heavy bombers to obliterate the opposition on 1 turn.

While A&A was the king while I was in the Navy and In College, We had a lot of fun with Battletech as well. A little too much geek-work with all the miniatures, but still a good time.

2nd edition. heavy bombers is a technology advancement just like long range aircraft, etc.  Heavy bomber roll 3 or 4 dice per plane per attack. I also have the cheesy PC version.

What are these boardgames you speak of? In my youth, no one played good boardgames; we played Nintendo 64's Perfect Dark and Playstation's Street Fighter #. Board games were for poor people ( I went to an expensive private school for lower and middle school, and was one of those poor people. I didn't have anyone to play anything with. Me and my poor underused Sega Genesis 3.) I wish I could find someone near me to play these games with, and a copy of any of those games. You people are lucky.

There's a board game version of Aces High II ?

Just read through the thread  :lol

I played one a lot at a friend's house, don't recall what the name was, but you had what was like about 100 pieces of soldiers...etc, and you had to move them around, and there were only certain ways you could win or something like that. I think it was called like "revolutionary _____"

I don't really know, I haven't played the game in atleast 3 years.
No one knows what the future may bring.
